Mary, who was born and raised in South Uist, takes up the role following experience as the Chair of Ceòlas Uibhist, the South Uist-based community arts, music, and cultural organisation, and Bòrd na Gàidhlig, Scotland’s national Gaelic development body.

The FCB is facilitated by CalMac and chaired independently. The group’s purpose is to be the voice of west coast communities and reflect views on ferry services to CalMac, CMAL and Transport Scotland directly.
