🔥 Gas Safety Week 2026 – Take No Chances

It’s Gas Safety Week (14–20 September) – a good opportunity to make sure you and the person you care for are safe around gas and carbon monoxide (CO).

As a carer, there are a few simple things you can check:

✅ Have gas appliances checked every year by a Gas Safe registered engineer
✅ Make sure there is a suitable carbon monoxide alarm (BS EN 50291)
✅ Keep vents clear so gas appliances can work safely
✅ Check an engineer’s ID before allowing them to carry out gas work

Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas that you cannot see, smell or taste, so having a working CO alarm is important.

This year’s Gas Safety Week theme is “Take No Chances” – so take a few minutes this week to check your gas safety.

Find gas safety advice and check registered engineers at https://www.gassaferegister.co.uk/gassafetyweek/
