📢 Come and Say Hello to Us! 📢

The Carers Centre will be attending the Women’s Community Health Event hosted by the Glasgow Women’s Health Network on Wednesday 10th June, 10am–1pm at Queen’s Park Baptist Church, 20 Balvicar Drive, Glasgow, G42 8QS.

We'll have a stall at the event where you can find out more about the support, information and services available for unpaid carers. Whether you're currently caring for someone, think you may be a carer, or simply want to learn more, we'd love to chat with you.

The event will also feature local organisations offering advice and support on a range of women's health topics, alongside free health checks, arts activities and refreshments.

We look forward to seeing you there! 💜

Did you know that the Priority Services Register (PSR) Scotland offers free practical support to people who may need extra help during a power, gas or water disruption? That includes many carers who rely on electricity or water for essential equipment, health needs or everyday caring tasks. 📞⚡💧

By joining the PSR, you can get tailored support such as:

✨ Priority treatment and updates during supply interruptions
✨ Communication in formats you need (e.g. large print, audio)
✨ Ability to nominate a contact (like a family member or carer) who can be informed on your behalf
✨ Extra safety checks — like a password scheme when utility workers visit your home

➡️ It’s free, easy to join, and designed to make life a little easier for carers and the people you care for.

We all worry about saying the wrong thing, but a little small talk can be all that’s needed to interrupt someone's suicidal thoughts and get them to a place of safety.
