Headway Glasgow Information and Updates from Headway Glasgow. Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) can happen to anyone in an instant and change their life forever.

It can happen as a result of a road traffic accident, an assault, a fall, an infection or a spontaneous bleed in the brain. The effects can be devastating. ABI can affect people’s physical abilities like their walking and their vision; their cognitive abilities like their memory and thinking; and their emotions leading to depression and anger. The outcome of this can affect every aspect of the per

son’s life from their relationships to their work. Headway Glasgow works with people with acquired brain injury, their families, and carers in the Glasgow area, where there is a significant problem with acquired brain injury. Over 3000 people per year go to hospital in Glasgow having had a brain injury and studies show half of these people may still be experiencing problems after a year. Headway Glasgow is unique in brain injury services in Glasgow by offering information, long-term peer support, and a user-led approach.

All of our groups will be running as scheduled next week, beginning Monday 25th August, including the return of our Social & Peer Support Group on Monday (and the pool table!).

Our manager is also back and will be hosting our ever popular Monday quiz and trying to offload strange and bizarre items as "wonderful and exciting prizes"...no changes there then.

The weather forecast is for rain and very strong 50+ mile per hour winds....
Please be very careful on your way to our Social/Peer Support Group and on your way home.
If in any doubt about travelling, then please remain safe at home.

This is the room we use for some of our groups...just add music quizzes, prize draws (with the World's Worst Prizes...), writers of poetry and prose, friends, family, painters, modellers, sketch artists, flower pressers, stencillers and many other things and it's Headway Glasgow!
