Stay safe in hot weather – remember to keep cool and look out for others who are more vulnerable to the heat, such as babies, young children, older people and those with underlying health conditions.

Remember to:

💧 Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water

🌡️ Make sure babies, children, older people and pets are not left in small, closed spaces – like stationary cars – as these can get hot very quickly

☀️ Look out for signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke

If you are concerned about symptoms, or they are worsening, seek medical advice by contacting 111.

For more hot weather advice, including what to do if you suspect heat exhaustion or heat stroke, visit NHS inform 🔽

The Scotties in the City art trail is officially open to the public!

The pack of 40 giant Scotties and 52 wee Scotties will be on display throughout Glasgow until 16 August.

We are most impressed by the wee Scotties that have been decorated by Knightswood Primary / Knightswood Early Years / St Ninians Primary at Whiteinch / Partick / and Hillhead libraries.

Great work and thanks to the pupils and staff involved - why not take time to visit over the holidays

To collect a map, visit Born In Scotland in Buchanan Galleries, or download our app to find your nearest Scotties. Just search “Scotties in the City” in Google Play or the App Store.

As part of Armed Forces Week, 22 to 27th June, events are taking place all over the country. We would like to thank the Members of Glasgow and West of Scotland branch, The Parachute Regiment for hosting an amazing event at Netherton Community Centre for the benefit of Veterans and the community.

Thanks also to Baillie Anne McTaggart and Cllr Dr Davena Rankin who attended the event along with our Chair, John Docherty.

Special mention must go to Terry McCourt and the staff at Netherton Community Centre for organising. Here are some photos of the event
