Summary of Job Remit...
To undertake relevant training courses under the direction of the Advice Service Manager and through support and mentoring.
Following training, provide in-depth advice to clients living in Glasgow by:
• Undertaking detailed casework and providing timeous advice on multiple benefit, debt and money management problems.
• Ensuring all cases are compliant with all aspects of FCA regulation and in line with Scottish National Standards for Information and Advice Giving.
Main Responsibilities...
• under instruction from advisers undertake detailed casework for clients, particularly in relation to multiple debt cases, and welfare benefit cases.
• to learn and understand relevant legislation particularly in relation to welfare benefits, debt, bankruptcy and other debt solutions.
• to ensure that systems are maintained, for case recording, statistics, follow up work and quality control
• to work co-operatively with other agencies and community groups to improve the provision, standard and accessibility of money advice
• through peer assessment and quality assurance checking of all casework, receive constructive feedback to assist in the identification of training and development needs
• to work with colleagues, sharing information and changes relevant to the role of an adviser including changes in legislation.
• to be proactive in highlighting advice issues that relate to the successful delivery of money and benefit advice

• to be considerate of and respectful to colleagues and clients’ needs and limitations and act in a supportive manner as outlined in the organisations aims and principles
• to assist in the improvement and development of the organisation’s money advice service
• to attend staff/team meetings as required
• to assist in the identification of own training and development needs
• to abide by the health and safety guidelines and share responsibility for own safety and that of colleagues
• to undertake any other duties and responsibilities which may reasonably be determined by the Manager
