This was the official campaign site to save and repatriate to Scotland, the historic ship 'Falls of Clyde', an iron hull sailing ship, built in Port Glasgow in 1878.This is a non-profit organisation. Save The Falls of Clyde International is a Scotland based organisation, we are located in Glasgow on the River Clyde, only 12 miles from where she was built in Port Glasgow, 143 years ago. We are look

ing for those experienced in saving historic ships worldwide, to join us and offer advice on how we can play our part in saving her by working with us and bringing her back to the U.K. We are not under any illusion, this will be a long and tough process, but if we could call upon the experiences and success's of others we could make this happen, and save a unique 4 masted Iron Hull beauty!

On reviewing old emails seems that when HDOT awarded the contract to Shipwright LLC, after DonJon walked away, , that after they awarded the contract, Dr Dre at DOT said that the contract was now being negotiated...after the award. Yet when we tried the same in relation to the bond, we were advised the RFP was fixed. One rule for some, the other rules for us.

Falls of Clyde removal

HONOLULU — The Hawai‘i Department of Transportation (HDOT) and its contractor Shipwright LLC have completed the ocean disposal of the vessel Falls of Clyde.

The operation began this morning at sunrise, and the vessel was towed from its berth at Pier 7. The transit to the disposal site is approximately 25 miles south of Honolulu Harbor. Around noon, Shipwright notified HDOT officials that the operation was completed as planned.

The project mobilized nearly 100 O‘ahu businesses and vendors, demonstrating strong local collaboration and expertise. The operation also benefited from specialized coral salvage support provided by the Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) ‘Ānuenue Coral Nursery and Fisheries Research Center.

On Tuesday, the Friends of Falls of Clyde held a small send-off ceremony for the vessel ahead of the removal of the vessel from the port. HDOT continues to work with this organization to memorialize the vessel in a permanent display that will feature key artifacts including the vessel’s name board, wheel, and bell. Other artifacts removed from the vessel have been transferred to the National Park Service and will be displayed at the San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park. Some of the rigging tools from Falls of Clyde will be used for the maintenance of the Balclutha, a three-masted square-rigged Scottish-built ship moored at the park.

HDOT extends it appreciation to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Coast Guard for its guidance through the regulatory process for the operation.

As for the Balclutha benefitting from this tragedy, this was artifacts loaned by them to FOC, don't portray this as if she was a doner to saving the Balclutha!

SHAME ON HAWAII!
