Drumchapel CAB

Drumchapel CAB Situated in Drumchapel we offer free, confidential and impartial advice and assistance to Glasgow residents with the postcode G1 - G15.

Drumchapel CAB is an independent charity overseen by a voluntary board of directors. Operating since 1963, we have had to constantly change and adapt to meet the ever-increasing needs of our community. We have also grown in size and now have 14 paid members of staff and over 40 volunteers. Situated in Drumchapel, our bureau covers a far greater area and serves the districts of Knightswood, Anniesl

and and Whiteinch to name just a few. In fact, we offer advice to Glasgow residents with postcodes G1 through to G15. Regardless of the area you reside in, the problems raised will often be much the same. Today, as in many other places in Scotland, poverty remains one of the most common and deep-rooted of problems affecting people. Easier access to credit with, often, hefty interest charges for those least able to pay has only served to worsen that situation. The most recent Welfare Reform Act, as well as the disintegration of the discretionary social fund, has exacerbated things further.
