Hello Spring! Exploring, creating and investigating.

We then began our new Spring topic, and the children have enjoyed a range of seasonal activities. We made bright yellow spring playdough and used string, corks and green pipe cleaners to create spring flowers, thinking carefully about the different parts of a plant such as roots, bulbs, stalks, leaves and petals. World Book Day!

Another wonderful World Book Day was had by all at Windy Nook Primary!

We’ve had live, interactive lessons, virtual author visits, book-themed crafting and artwork, story time, book talk and so much more! One particular highlight was how we “dressed up” – because, this year, we dressed our doors and reading areas! Making an inviting, inspiring space for reading is one of the aims of National Year of Reading 2026; Windy Nook’s children took ownership of this today and revamped their classrooms in super, book-themed decoration!
