A fabulous opportunity for any girls aged 13 - 18 who are interested in a career in aviation! Put Saturday 19th September in your diaries!

Calling all girls aged 13 to 18 who are curious about what a future in aerospace and defence could look like!!

We’re excited to invite you to a Girls in Aviation Day at the AirTanker Hub, RAF Brize Norton on Saturday 19 September and applications are now open!

On the day, you will:
✈️ Step inside a real aviation environment at the AirTanker Hub
✈️ Take part in hands-on activities and team challenges
✈️ Get closer to aircraft and explore how they work
✈️ Experience how flight planning and operations come together
✈️ See how different skills and interests link to real careers

Too many young people rule out careers before they have had the chance to see what they involve. Giving girls access to real environments and experiences helps change that.

Congrats to Cdt Aleksejevs, Cdt Palczynski, Cdt Sardini and Cdt Donabie for getting their Blue DofE badges! 🎉

In order to achieve your Pre-DofE badge, you should complete an element of fitness training, complete a few sections of your first class logbook, and complete some volunteer work. Our group of cadets completed litter picking around the streets of Gateshead, collecting bags and bags of rubbish. 🗑️

Last weekend 361 hit RAF Spadeadam for the Wing AT Challenge. The weekend consisted of first aid casualty simulations, orienteering, archery and more. This was the first overnight experience for some of our team, and they definitely made the most of it!

Well done to FS Little, Cpl Gilroy, Cdt Walters, Cdt Ergun and Cdt Thoburn for representing 361 and giving it their all! ⛺

Huge congrats to Sgt Deng on earning their Silver Road Marching Badge and medal! 🥈👏

Sgt Deng was one of 32 cadets from Durham Northumberland Wing Air Cadets to complete the RAFWARMA 2-Day March at RAF Cosford. 40km a day for two days back-to-back, marching alongside RAF personnel, cadets, and civilians from across the country.

Months of training paid off, and they even got the chance to meet Air Commodore Al Lewis, Commandant Air Cadets, while they were there!
