Appeal

For relatives of Frederick William Sharpe - died 28.11.1957 and Florence Jane Sharp - died 31.12.1963. Unfortunately their headstone memorial in Stocks Lane cemetery was found to be completely loose in the ground today and as it was directly next to the path, has had to be laid flat for safety. It will need to be fixed back in place by stonemasons. Please contact us for more details.

Also relatives of Harold and Beatrice Norman - plot G14. Their headstone is also very loose and needs attention. Please get in touch with us as soon as possible.

Did you know that mirrors and glass ornaments can be a fire risk? 🤔

Crews from Cambridge attended an incident this morning where a fire started from the sunlight coming through a window onto a magnifying glass, causing it to heat up and ignite.

Thankfully, the fire was spotted early and while there was some damage and smoke, there were no injuries.

With the current warm weather we are having, we would like to remind you how easy it is for a fire to start. Make sure you keep reflective objects away from the window and out of direct sunlight. Keeping doors closed in the home and making sure you have working smoke alarms that are tested regularly, will also help you stay fire safe ✅

🚨 Scam text warning 🚨

We're asking you to be aware of a scam text that is currently circulating.
The scam claims that the fire service will be in your area carrying out visits, and that if you miss the visit you will be fined.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service does not send out text messages or hand out fines. Any visit from us would be carried out by a member of the Service in uniform and they would have formal identification on them as well as an official fire service vehicle. We would at no point ask for payment.
Please do avoid engaging with suspicious texts and report any concerns to Cambridgeshire Constabulary on 101.

Help spread the word and keep others safe 👇
