Book now for England and York Before and After 1066
(Our 10th Festival of Ideas Conference)
The Bayeux Tapestry is coming to the British Museum, provoking searching questions about the causes and consequences of the invasions of 1066.
Why did Tostig Godwinson and Norwegian king Harald Hardrada sail an invasion fleet up the Ouse in September 1066?
How did William of Normandy impose his power? Was there resistance and resilience?
How did the Normans change York and rule the north?
Hear from our expert speakers.

St Oswald's Church Hall, Main Street
