Kino Shelter Improvement Works – Walton on the Naze
A reminder that improvement works to the Kino Shelter at Walton on the Naze will begin on Monday 29 June.
The works will focus on repairing and improving the shelters to keep them safe, functional, and open for public use.
Unfortunately, the shelters have been subject to repeated vandalism, with damage occurring four times in the last two weeks alone.
As a result, and with the permission of the shelter owners, Tendring District Council (TDC), all glass panels will be removed as part of the remedial works to help prevent ongoing damage and the significant costs associated with constant replacement.
These works are intended to ensure the shelters can remain in a reasonable state, open and accessible, rather than being cordoned off due to safety concerns. They will also provide time for the Council to consider longer-term solutions and future investment options for the site.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while these essential works are carried out.

Today we cleared the overgrown vegetation away from the Playpark gates at Gt Holland, making it easier and safer for families to access the play area.

Frinton & Walton Town Council are hiring for the Columbine Community Centre – a busy seaside venue with a 350-seat theatre, bar, café, sports, events and community groups.
Part-time, Permanent
15 hours per week (rota based, includes evenings & weekends)
£12.65/hour
Must-haves:
Live local (due to occasional split shifts)
Full UK driving licence
Access to a vehicle insured for business use
Comfortable with physical work & lone working
Role includes:
Customer Service, Cleaning, minor repairs, event setup, keyholding, safety checks, admin (Microsoft 365), serving at the bar/café including alcohol, inspecting our other assets around the Frinton & Walton Town Council area, supporting contractors & visitors.
