This evening we cleared the overhanging foliage on rawlings Lane by the fire station to give access to pedestrians and prevent vehicle damage.

This was hindering pedestrians from walking on the pavement and causing our service vehicles to drive through foliage of the bushes.

Could anyone who has access to removing foliage and green waste support please as we have no means of removing the waste.

Yours faithfully

Drill night with a difference!

A huge thank you to Place, Fowey for allowing us to drill and use the house for breathing apparatus practice. A valuable insight to the layout and features within the house as well as supporting the crews skills.

Thank you for your hospitality and we look forward to collaborating in the near future.

Drill night with a difference!

Tonight we had the pleasure to do a breathing apparatus drill at Place House Placefowey.

A huge thank you for your hospitality and allowing us to practice key skills within the house. Additional to showing us around the perimeter of the house.

We look forward to further drills and collaborations in the near future.

A great drill with lots of skills put to practice and some valuable learning points to take away.

This is the St Just gorse that Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service and colleagues from all over Cornwall have been attending over the previous days and for the next couple of days.

20/07/2026

A busy weekend supporting the service with a large scale gorse fire down St Just.

Over the last 48 hours. We have done three 10 hour stints.

Saturday night into Sunday morning we went to Penzance on standby before returning sunday morning.

Sunday lunchtime we went to St Just to support the effort in controlling the gorse fire which covered approx. 70 acres. Returning midnight before our crews spent the day at St austell on standby whilst the wholetime crew continued down St Just.

A busy period for all in the service.

Please remember we are in the midst of a major heatwave that is exacerbating wildfires and please do not discard any cigarette buts or BBQs where they may cause damage.

A big thank you to Henry Orchard & Sons Ltd for facilitating and creating a challenging scenario for a recent RTC exercise 🚒

We’d also like to extend our thanks to crews from Lostwithiel Community Fire Station and Mevagissey Community Fire Station along with the training team, for their involvement in what proved to be a highly productive and valuable session.

Exercises like this are vital in helping us put our practical crash rescue equipment skills into action, ensuring we’re always prepared to respond effectively when it matters most. 👏

A great team effort to achieve positive outcomes.
