🚨 Emergency Call 🚨

Over the last 15+ days, your local crew have been heavily involved in tackling the wildfires in the Cairngorms. Many of the call-outs have come in the early hours of the morning, with crews often spending around 12 hours at a time away from home and their primary employment.

In between the call-outs to the Cairngorms, your local crew have also dealt with several RTCs. Then, just this morning (11.08.26), the crew were paged, along with a crew from Foyers, to a well-developed shed fire at a property within Fort Augustus.

🔥 Wildfire Update 🔥

The wildfire in the Cairngorms continues to burn, and last night (Friday 24th July) a major incident was declared.

Your local crew from Fort Augustus were paged at 2:30am this morning (25.07.26) to assist with the firefighting effort.

Incidents like these have a knock-on effect, and we’d like to thank the employers of our on-call firefighters for their continued support in allowing them to respond to emergencies during this busy period. Without that support, incidents like this would be even more challenging to manage.

Thank you to everyone involved, and please continue to avoid the affected area and follow any advice issued by the emergency services.

🚨 Emergency Call 🚨

The crew were paged this afternoon (21/07/26) to a four-vehicle road traffic collision (RTC) just south of Laggan Swing Bridge, South Laggan.

Crews worked alongside colleagues from Fort William Fire Station, as well as Police Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service, to bring the incident to a safe conclusion.

The Highland roads are extremely busy at this time of year, and this incident resulted in lengthy tail-backs. We’d like to thank all motorists for their patience and understanding while the emergency services dealt with the incident.

Please take extra care when travelling and allow plenty of time for your journey.

🚨Emergency Call🚨

Today (20.07.26), the crew were paged to reports of a fire on the hillside near the Great Glen Water Park, South Laggan. Fortunately, the incident turned out to be a false alarm with good intent.

While en route to the incident, the crew came across a single-vehicle road traffic collision (RTC) and stopped to assist until the police and ambulance service arrived.

Thankfully, no further action was required at the reported fire location, and the crew were able to return to station.

🚨Wildfire Cairngorms🚨

The local crew from Fort Augustus were first paged late on Thursday night to attend the wildfire in the Cairngorms. Crews worked throughout the night and into Friday afternoon before being stood down.

The crew were then redeployed on Saturday morning at 4:00am to continue assisting with the incident.

🚨Emergency Call🚨

The crew were paged at around 12:45am on 15.07.26 to mobilise the main appliance and the Water Carrier to a well-developed house fire in Fort William.

Crews worked alongside colleagues from Fort William, Kinlochleven & Inverness to bring the incident under control, while the Water Carrier crew maintained an adequate water supply to the firefighting appliances and the aerial platform on scene.

🚨Emergency Call🚨

The crew were paged this morning (13/07/26) to mobilise the Water Carrier to a well-developed garage fire in the Lochalsh area.

The crew provided a continuous water supply to the appliances on scene, helping firefighters bring the incident under control.

Another busy week for your local crew. We have been called out to a variety of incidents, including a water rescue, smoke alarm activations and multiple road traffic collisions.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of attending the Glengarry Highland Games - Scotland alongside the Scottish Ambulance Service and Police Scotland.

It was a great afternoon engaging with the public, chatting about the equipment we carry and the work we do.

We also entered an emergency services team into the tug of war. We couldn’t help but notice that Police Scotland mysteriously disappeared just as the team was being put together… very suspicious! 😉
And yes… we won! 💪🏆

🚨 Emergency Call-Out 🚨

On Sunday afternoon, crews were paged to a water rescue on Loch Lochy after three kayakers got into difficulties.

Fire crews from Fort Augustus, Fort William and Inverness worked alongside Police Scotland, the Scottish Ambulance Service, HM Coastguard and the Search and Rescue helicopter from Oban to bring the incident to a safe conclusion.

Conditions on the water can change incredibly quickly. If you’re planning to head out on the water, please make sure you’re fully prepared, check the weather forecast, wear the appropriate safety equipment, and let someone know your plans.
