Protect the Cairngorms National Park. No flame, no spark 🔥

From 1 April until 30 September, fires and barbecues are banned across the Cairngorms National Park under a new byelaw, with a maximum fine of £500.

The reason for this is simple: to protect the precious landscapes, communities and rare wildlife against the increasing threat of wildfires.

Enjoy your visit to this spectacular place and help to look after it for generations to come by spreading the word 💚

Are you aged 16 - 25 and living in an Angus Council tenancy? We want to hear from you.

Angus Council Housing Service is looking at better ways to connect with young tenants - and your views can help shape how we do this.

Graeme Hodge, our Tenant Participation Officer, is keen to speak with young people aged 16 - 25 who are tenants or living in an Angus Council home. It’s nothing formal - just a relaxed chat about what matters to you and how we can improve our services for young people.

Your feedback will play a key role in helping us engage more effectively with young tenants in the future.

The Angus International Community Café has been recognised with a prestigious Heart of the Community Award by Voluntary Action Angus, celebrating the incredible dedication of its volunteers.

What began as a heartfelt effort by local residents to reach out and welcome new Scots to the community has blossomed into a thriving, user-led space.

Bringing people together to foster true community cohesion and mutual understanding, the café has achieved fantastic attendance and created a vital environment where everyone feels safe, supported, and valued.

This award is a wonderful testament to the power of community integration and beautifully reinforces the genuine, enduring warmth of the Angus welcome.

Last Friday, our Resettlement Team took part in the 'Are You Okay' walking sports event to help celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week, at Station Park Forfar with Forfar Community Football Trust and ANGUSalive Sport & Leisure

Our teams were made up of six young Afghan girls who have settled in Angus, as well as Wellbeing Champions from Angus Council.

The girls took part in rugby, cricket and football, as well as experiencing the opportunity to be part of other group activities.

The theme of this year campaign was 'Action' which is very apt for the families that the Resettlement Team work. It takes a great deal of strength for these families to adapt to their new homes and especially the young Afghan girls who are embracing sport for the first time since arriving almost three years ago.

The 'Are you okay' campaign proves that in sport, language doesn’t matter. You don’t need perfect English to feel part of a team. A simple pass, a smile, a shared win – that’s the connection. ♥️
