Wildfires are becoming an increasingly serious risk across Angus, in particular in areas such as Easthaven where emergency access is limited. So it was a reassuring sight to have the local community join forces with the emergency crews to practice dealing with a simulated dune fire. A big thank you to everyone involved, it makes a huge difference for the rescue teams to practice a coordinated response in a realistic setting and makes us all feel a little safer.

Vice Lord-Lieutenant Malcolm Taylor was honoured to attend the 25th anniversary of the dedication of the Angus Branch of the Black Watch Association Standard. As the spiritual and physical heartbeat of the regiment, The Standard is the ultimate symbol of pride and regimental loyalty. It was first dedicated at Edzell church 25 years ago. The re-dedication was an equally poignant and moving moment.
After the event, the party laid a wreath at the Edzell War Memorial.

Huge congratulations to Jim and Joyce Sharp of Arbroath who celebrated their Diamond wedding anniversary today. What a delight and an honour it was for Deputy Lord Lieutenant Zoë Bing to join Provost Craig Fotheringham and close family and friends in wishing them well. The couple met more than sixty years ago in Glasgow but have long made their home.

Why Mondays matter 🗣️

For some people, this session is more than an activity. It is company, routine and a reason to come out, talk and reconnect.

Our weekly Sporting memories club runs every Monday morning at Strathmore Cricket Club 10.30am-12pm. Why not come along and give it a try?

We're delighted to have received a generous grant from Garfield Weston Foundation which will help us to continue our sessions to those that need them.

The Garfield Weston Foundation is a family founded grant-maker supporting charities operating in a wide variety of sectors across the UK that make a positive difference within their communities.

Established by W. Garfield Weston in 1958 through an endowment of shares in the family business – now known as Associated British Foods plc – the Foundation continues to be guided by the Weston Family. The Trustees, each of whom are direct descendants of the founder, play an active, informed role in its work.
