Promises broken. Council tax up. Kent County Council Budget debate curtailed, with Opposition councillors silenced. Council taxpayers’ money spent on benefits for Reform’s councillors.

You just can’t trust Reform UK.

Now is the time for new beginnings and to join the only party truly holding this disastrous and floundering Labour government to account.

We know we got some things wrong in the past, and we acknowledge this as we rebuild and renew under the leadership of Kemi Badenoch. We’re the only party with a credible plan, the team, and the backbone to deliver it.

- Abolishing Stamp Duty helping millions to own their home, move, or downsize.
- Boosting apprenticeships to give every young person the chance of a good education.
- Cutting taxes for pubs and small businesses to protect and increase jobs.
- And taking the UK out of the ECHR. Scrapping the Human Rights Act. And deporting 150,000 illegal immigrants each year.

Now is the time to join the Conservatives. Join today at https://www.conservatives.com/join

Today, we remember the 6 million Jewish people who were murdered by the N**i regime in the 20th century. Prejudice still continues today within our communities and across the UK. Holocaust Memorial Day also seeks to educate about where this can lead, highlighting recent persecution and atrocities in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

We mourn those we lost and continue honour the courage of survivors whose testimony will educate future generations.

Reform UK county councillors in Folkestone, Mary Lawes and John Baker, once again failed to submit any councillor update reports at last night's meeting of Folkestone Town Council for the second meeting running.

They consistently fail to respond to correspondence. They fail to work with or engage with the local council and residents in Folkestone. They fail to speak out on issues that concern local residents at committee meetings or in the media, preferring to remain silent amid the alleged bullying culture of Reform UK at Kent County Council.

This is a disgrace and shame on them. While there is no law requiring Kent County Councillors to submit reports to parish councils, doing so is widely considered best practice for effective local governance and is already in place elsewhere across the county and the country. We demand they recognise the need to do the job they were elected to do on behalf of local residents.

Labour’s answer to every problem is more tax and more spending — hitting hard-working families the most. They have done nothing to grow the economy or support people who want to work hard, aspire, and succeed.

The Conservatives are the only party committed to real economic responsibility:
✅ Lower spending
✅ Lower tax
✅ A stronger, growing economy

We believe people should be rewarded for their effort, not punished for it.

To help them get elected, Labour told a lie.

This is the story of one of the biggest deceptions in British politics. http://spkl.io/6187Aev3V

A blunt takeaway: Reform UK’s so-called “savings” in Kent aren’t savings — they’re sleight of hand with real-world consequences. Scrapping the Sessions House plan saddles taxpayers with higher running and repair costs. Paying off low-cost debt early has wiped out millions in future interest that could have funded services. The EV/“climate emergency” reversal cancels spending that wasn’t even allocated, while a very real £50k cut hits crisis grants for families in poverty.

This isn’t what people were promised; it’s headline-chasing that hollows out support for ordinary people — higher bills, fewer safety nets, and worse services dressed up as fiscal discipline. Time for Reform to drop the spin, infighting and toxic chaos, and start governing. While they play politics, real people are paying the price.
