🔥 3 DAYS TO GO! 🔥

Firefighter Joss Smith is just 3 days away from his debut UWCB boxing match this Saturday afternoon! 🥊

Over the past 8 weeks, Joss has been training incredibly hard, giving 100% in every session to prepare for fight night. His dedication has already paid off — not only is he feeling the fittest he has ever been, but he has also raised an amazing £6,520 for two fantastic charities:

🚒 The Fire Fighters Charity
💛 Mikeysline

This total will be split 50/50 between both charities, and we’re hoping for one final push of support before the event!

Last night at the event match-up, Joss discovered he will be facing Taylor Barr in the ring. It’s sure to be a tough challenge, but we know Joss will give everything he’s got on the afternoon – win or lose.

Joss would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported him over the last 8 weeks — through donations, physical support, and the mental encouragement that helped him push through the toughest training sessions. Your support has meant a lot.

Really proud to share a quick update on my UWCB charity journey 💪🥊

Thanks to the incredible generosity of friends, colleagues, and supporters, I’ve officially broken the £2,000 fundraising mark. I genuinely can’t thank everyone enough who has donated so far — your support means more than you know and is helping make a real difference.

On the training side, progress is moving in the right direction too. I weighed in this morning and I’m down 8lbs in 2 weeks, which is a great motivator to keep pushing hard as the event gets closer.

🥊 UWCB Charity Boxing – Training Underway! 🥊

Fochabers Fire Station is proud to share that Firefighter Joss Smith will be competing in Ultra White Collar Boxing (UWCB) on 14th March in Aviemore, with training now officially underway at HMAC Inverness.

Session 1 of 16 is complete — there’s plenty of hard work ahead, but Joss is fully committed to the challenge.

All funds raised will be donated to two fantastic charities:

🔥 The Fire Fighters Charity – providing vital physical, mental and emotional support to serving and retired fire service personnel and their families.

💙 Mikeysline – a Highland-based mental health charity offering confidential support and su***de prevention services to people in emotional distress.

🧠 Why Mental Health Matters
Mental health is a cause that is particularly close to Joss’s heart. Alongside his operational role, Joss is one of the local Mental Health Champions within the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Mental Health Champions play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of colleagues by:

- Promoting positive mental health and reducing stigma within the Service
- Acting as a point of contact for staff who may be struggling
- Signposting colleagues to appropriate support services and professional help
- Encouraging open conversations around mental health in a safe and supportive environment

This role highlights the importance of looking after not only physical health, but mental wellbeing too — something that strongly aligns with the charities being supported through this event.

Unfortunately this year we have had to cancel our Santa run.🚒🎅🏻

This is due to our appliance having a fault and in for repair and because we don’t have a timescale for it coming back we can’t put decorations or lights on the Reserve appliance.🚒

The Crew want to thank you all for your support this year, especially during the wildfires in the summer and wish you all a very happy and safe Christmas.🎄🎅🏻
