We’re delighted to see the pollinator corridor coming to life 🌼🌸

The plants have really appreciated the recent rain, and it’s wonderful to see how the space has transformed into a rich, living habitat.

From early resident engagement in January 2025—helping shape the vision and identify the best location—through to planting in April 2025, everything is now established and bursting into bloom.

What began as an idea is now a vibrant, flower-filled corridor ready for pollinators, birds, and all kinds of wildlife to enjoy. A small but meaningful step toward supporting biodiversity, and a real joy to see. Please do go and take a look for yourself—we hope everyone continues to enjoy it.

🎉 Congratulations to the volunteers at the Fleet Repair Café on their well-deserved recognition as Fleet Lions' Hero of the Month!
Their dedication highlights the rewards of volunteering, and the real difference local people can make in our community.
In March, they achieved an amazing milestone — £50,000 saved for Fleet residents by repairing items rather than replacing them. ♻️💚
Why not help them reach their next milestone? Come along to one of their sessions at The Harlington or join their Facebook group to learn more and get involved. 😁

The Fleet Repair Café are Fleet Lions Club heroes of the month for June.

They wrote: Their free repair services for household items help our community reduce waste, tackle carbon emissions and save money. A-ma-zing!

Thank you Lions! We are super proud of what we have been able to achieve.

🎉 Park Consultation Update – Preferred Design Selected 🎉

Thank you to everyone who took part in our play park consultation and shared their views.

We are delighted to announce that the preferred design is Option B (HAGS), which received 62% of all votes, making it the clear favourite among residents.

What stood out most in the feedback was the importance of creating a park that is inclusive, accessible and welcoming for everyone. Residents particularly valued the design's wheelchair-accessible equipment, sensory play features, range of activities for different ages, and its more natural appearance and layout compared with the other options.

We also received a number of valuable suggestions and ideas, which will be reviewed as the project develops.

The next step is for the Council to progress an application for Public Works Loan Board (PWLB) funding to help bring this exciting project to life. Once approved, the loan funding will be used alongside the generous contribution already committed by Fleet BID, for which we are extremely grateful.

Thank you again to Fleet BID for its support, and to everyone who has helped shape the future of The Views play park.

🌳 Watch this space for further updates as the project progresses.

🛝New Slides Have Arrived! 🛝

As part of our weekly maintenance checks, two of our slides were identified as needing replacement.

The slide at Basingbourne has now been replaced, and a brand-new slide is being installed at Calthorpe today, ensuring our residents can continue enjoying our play parks safely and happily.

We are committed to keeping our parks well maintained for everyone to enjoy. Alongside our regular inspections, we always welcome feedback from residents to help us keep our play areas in great condition.

Thank you for helping us make our parks the best they can be! 🌳😊
