🌧️ Rain = Happy Parks! 🌳💚

Some much-needed rain for our parks and green spaces today! After a long, dry summer, our trees, plants and grass will be grateful for the moisture.

Many of our trees may have become dehydrated over the summer, so please take a little extra care when walking through our parks. Keep an eye out for fallen or hanging branches, particularly after periods of rain or wind.

We hope you enjoy the fresh air, the greener parks and that wonderful smell of rain! 🌧️🌿

🚗🅿️New Parking Restrictions at Ancells Farm Community Centre 🚗🅿️

Fleet Town Council has recently been made aware of the introduction of an Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) system at the Ancells car park, coming into force late September 2026.

Like our residents, hirers and Community Centre users, we had questions about how the new system will work and what it means for different users.

We contacted Horizon Parking with the questions we have seen raised on social media and had been raised by hirers as potential usage scenarios.

We hope the answers provided in the FAQ below will help everyone understand and navigate the changes.

Do You Know Where Your Nearest Defibrillator Is?

In a medical emergency, quick access to a defibrillator can save a life. Public defibrillators (AEDs) are designed for anyone to use, with clear instructions to help in a cardiac emergency.

You can find the nearest AED using the free 'Save a Life' app, which also provides CPR guidance.

🌿 Meet Fleet’s New Town Councillor – Emil Engström! 👋

Fleet Town Councillors are dedicated volunteers who give their time to represent our community and help shape the future of our town 🏘️💚

💡 What motivated you to join Fleet Town Council?
I wanted to support my fellow residents and help promote more music and arts in Fleet. I’m also excited to help see the Harlington refurbishment become a reality.

💼 Can you share a little about your background?
I’m a software developer and consultant, as well as a professional sound engineer working in theatres across the UK. I’m also a bass player in several bands. I hope my experience in technology, live events and the arts will help me bring a practical and creative perspective to the council.

❤️ What do you love most about Fleet?
The fantastic community, our independent shops and restaurants, and the beautiful parks and Fleet Pond. They’re what make Fleet such a great place to live.

🎵 What local project are you most excited about?
The Harlington refurbishment is a real priority for me. I’d also love to see more live music and arts events in Fleet, creating more opportunities for local musicians and artists to showcase their talents.
