Thanks to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary & Hart North Police for continuing their amazing work, ensuring our streets are kept safe.

Reducing crime and antisocial behaviour is a main priority which is described in their community priority plan. This plan of action has gained support at the end of last year, continuing into 2023 with combined efforts from locals and neighbourhood watch. They stated in a recent report that: “We are regularly visiting and providing a visible presence in areas of offending and stopping vehicle types which have routinely been used by those out to commit crime.”

For more information about police services, visit Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary and the hart policing pages North Police and Hart South Police.

Update!

Speaking with a representative of the council, work is due to commence on Monday 23rd of January and shall see a new trim trail installed. Great news!

No further updates have been made regarding the refurbishment of Oakley Park. Communicating with representatives of Friends of Oakley park, they said they are raising their efforts to ensure the refurbishment is brought forth in coming weeks and months.

A wonderful addition to Oakley Park ready for installation. With thanks to Fleet Town Council & Hart District Council, the new trim trail is said to be installed at the start of next year so keep an eye out.

Are you looking for a change in career and want to make a difference to children’s lives?
Would you like a rewarding role in caring and supporting the development of children from an early age for ‘school readiness’ and beyond?

There are new opportunities to work in this sector. Become a childminder and be your own boss or work as part of a team in a childcare setting – either way you can make a difference to children’s lives.

We talk about ‘small steps’ in early years … your first small step could be to check out our website or contact your local childcare provider.

A huge thank you to all the firefighters working tirelessly to ensure our homes are safe when fires break out.

Recently, Fleet Fire Station were presented with individual Chief Fire Officer Commendations for their involvement in a traffic collision with awards also going to Hartley Wintney Fire Station, Rushmoor Fire Station, Basingstoke Fire Station.

Their passion for making people safe cannot go unrecognised and with all the controversy over how pay is distributed between the different sectors it’s safe to say they deserve a massive thank you.

The public shall always need your hard and work and dedication so keep up the good fight!

South West Railway announces maintenance work causing disruptions to train lines over the weekend.

Railway maintenance work is to be carried out around Wi******er, Basingstoke and Andover, providing improvements to the rail network. The engineering work shall be happening this weekend (19th-20th) with the lines in Wi******er and Basingstoke being affected, whilst trains from Andover shall not run on Sunday.

South West Railway do offer an alternative to the train line due the disruptions, with them stating, “If we need to close train lines for engineering works, we’ll provide buses to replace the affected trains. We will need to alter train services over a wider area, for example to connect with buses, so you should always check whether your journey will be affected." Check the South West Railway website for more details.

The services from Fleet station are only affected on Sunday. The majority of journeys going out of Fleet shall be affected with bus services needed on parts of the route to get to the next train station. South West Railway shall inform you of all changes to routes at the train station so make sure to stay informed about potential travel changes this weekend.
