Pembrokeshire Alliance

Pembrokeshire Alliance Community campaign group promoting openness, transparency and democracy in the way Pembrokeshire is run. Putting the people of Pembrokeshire first.

The Pembrokeshire Alliance is a community-based group that wants to see open, transparent and democratic decision-making throughout the County. We are not aligned to any political party. Our supporters and Councillors may be individual members of political parties or have no formal political affiliation. However, our over-riding principle is that we put Pembrokeshire and its people before any poli

tical allegiance and want to see it remain a County run, scrutinised and accountable to its residents. We are united by a desire to see the best for Pembrokeshire. No other group in the County has guiding principles and a manifesto that focuses purely on Pembrokeshire. We want the County to be a beacon of good practice and ready to take a leading role in a modern, forward-looking Wales. We believe strongly that we should serve the people of Pembrokeshire to the best of our abilities with the needs of our communities central to all decision-making. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of public governance and endorse and support the Nolan and Bell principles. Our first objective is to achieve fundamental reform in the way Pembrokeshire County Council is governed and managed.

Every time you log on remember that it was the Pembrokeshire Alliance who came up with this idea. We can make Pembrokeshire a better place if we use our imagination and come up with new ideas.

It is exactly 20 years ago today that Dyfed was abolished. Now Welsh Labour want to bring it back. Their act was only kept alive by Plaid Cymru support and of course the subsequent "cheap date" slur from Leighton Andrews. Look at what happened when the Pembrokeshire Health Board was replaced by Hywel Dda. Services declined and all headed towards Carmarthen. Don't let it happen again!

Government Mobile Infrastructure project ends on 31/3/16.
£150 million allocated for masts but according to government minister only 15 have been built. Are you aware of any in Pembrokeshire? This is the government ministers answer to a question in the House of Commons:
“I must admit that I am guilty as charged. I do not think the programme has been a success, and I do not think ministers often say that about their programmes,” said Vaizey. “I am fully prepared to stand up in the chamber and admit that the Mobile Infrastructure Project has not been as successful as we had envisaged. Our heart was in the right place.”
That's O.K then - trebles all round.

IPPG and Tories reject negotiations over the Cleddau Bridge.
The two tories present at this meeting Cllr Stan Hudson and Cllr David Bryan voted against this notice of motion brought forward by Bob Kilmister leader of the Pembrokeshire Alliance group. Had they supported it then we would have won. At least we seem to know what the Tory view is on the tolls and this stealth tax in the middle of an enterprise zone. All other parties supported our motion.
Please share this so the residents who pay this stealth tax know who is responsible.

IPPG and Tories vote down Bob's proposal.

As suggested in this article a combination of IPPG members and the Tories voted down this proposal. The vote was 27 to 21 and as there was a recorded vote you will soon be able to see how your Councillor voted.
