On Monday, September 1st, Firefighters from St David’s, Fishguard and Haverfordwest Fire Stations responded to a property fire in St David's that was caused by a tumble dryer. Crews extinguished the fire quickly and, thankfully, there were no casualties.

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service is issuing a reminder on tumble dryer and white goods safety:

❌ NEVER leave appliances unattended - don’t turn your tumble dryer on before you leave the house or go to bed. Tumble dryers contain powerful motors with fast-moving parts that get very hot.

❌ Don’t overload your tumble dryer or ignore warning signs - if you can smell burning or have clothes that feel hotter at the end of the cycle, have your appliance checked by a professional.

Nice turnout this morning. Thank you all who have attended so far. We will be here until 1pm so plenty of time to come and visit us. If looking for something to do, come and visit the station, have a go on the fire engine and treat yourselves to some cake.

If anyone could benefit from a free home fire safety visit, pop in to the station today to register. Services include testing and replacement of smoke alarms and general advice on how to make your home safe.

Pop in for a chat and a brew with some of the crew!

It’s a great opportunity to find out more about the role of a firefighter, and how you could serve your community.

All money raised will be given to the Fire Fighters Charity

'Brew With A Crew' cake stall is ready, if anyone is interested in becoming an on-call firefighter pop in and have a chat. Also open for anyone who wants to have a look around the station and fire engine, we will be here until 1pm. All proceeds raised will go towards The Firefighters Charity.
