💉 Free disposal of medical sharps in Swale

Residents can now dispose of medical sharps, such as insulin needles and allergy autoinjectors, from home free of charge through Swale Borough Council’s collection service.

The change follows feedback from residents who were finding it increasingly difficult to locate pharmacies accepting these items.

Safe disposal is important to protect waste collection crews and prevent hazardous items from entering general household waste.

🏛️ Faversham Guildhall Restoration – Weekly Update

Work continues to progress on the restoration of our historic Guildhall, with several important steps completed and further preparations underway.

🔨 Last week’s progress includes:

✨ Window repairs completed: All window putty has now been fully removed and renewed, completing this stage of the work.

🪵 Timber repairs and preparation: Decoration preparation is underway across all timber areas, alongside further timber care and repairs to ensure the surfaces are ready for the decorators.

🏛️ Crest assessment: A meeting was held with a specialist to assess the stability of the Guildhall crest.

🎨 Masonry and painting: A meeting with Keim specialists confirmed the approved masonry repairs ahead of painting.

Each stage of the project is helping to prepare the Guildhall for its next phase of restoration, preserving this much-loved historic landmark for future generations.

Thank you for your continued interest as we bring new life to one of Faversham’s most treasured buildings.

Just a reminder that The Pumpkin Passport Town Trail is coming to Faversham on the 23rd to the 31st October! 🎃

In order to enter the competition, you must collect a Pumpkin Passport from the Visitor Centre and write your details on the front. You must then go around the town, visiting local shops and businesses to find the place names of all the pumpkins!

Once you have found all the names you must return back to the Visitor Centre and drop your passport in our town trail letterbox. You can then collect your certificate from behind the desk!

The winners will be randomly selected a short while after!

Good luck!🎃🐈‍⬛
