🌟 Public invitation to Full Council – 17 September

Farnham residents — you’re invited to the Full Council meeting on Thursday 17 September at 6:00 PM in the Council Chamber. As I’ve said many times before, these meetings are open to the public, and it’s a great chance to hear updates, ask questions, and see local decision‑making in action.

Your involvement genuinely strengthens our town. Whether you’ve come before or you’ve been meaning to give it a try, you’ll be very welcome.

Hope to see many of you there.

🍂 Beautiful morning to be out and about in the village joining the Bloomers’ autumn clean‑up.

Wonderful seeing so many young families getting involved too with everyone doing their bit to keep our community looking its best.

Thank you all! 🙏

A crisp, clear night sky (and a crisp, cold c***r) — honestly, that’s the perfect way to end a day.

There’s something calming about sitting outside, looking up at all those stars, and remembering the world is a lot bigger than whatever is on your to‑do list. 🌌💫

🔥 One of Farnham’s most distinctive artworks is back in the spotlight just in time for Craft Month. After careful restoration, the Farnham Flame — sculpted by Alan Collins in 1966 — has returned to public view.

Created for the original Woolmead development, the sculpture was shaped to echo Farnham’s past. Its flame‑like curves nod to the town’s pottery heritage and the hop‑drying kilns. When the Woolmead buildings were demolished, Farnham Town Council stepped in to rescue the piece and place it safely into storage.

Now, after years out of sight, the Flame is shining again — a restored reminder of the craft, culture and character that make Farnham unique.

🌴 Councillor Life: Jumanji Edition

Staying in a Jumanji‑themed room at Chessington tonight and honestly… it feels exactly like being a local councillor.

Jumanji: dodge stampedes.
Badshot Lea: dodge emails and potholes.

Jumanji: sudden chaos.
Council life: scheduled chaos.

Jumanji: solve puzzles to escape.
Councillor life: solve puzzles like “Why has the bin on the rec moved three feet to the left?” then immediately move on to the next mystery.

🦓🦒 The views across the animal reserve from the room are epic. Starting to think we should introduce some of the animals to Farnham — zebra in Farnham Park, giraffes at Tice’s Meadow… they’d blend right in with the current brown, parched terrain. In all seriousness, I highly recommend a visit!

If I make it out of Level 7 (Survive the Family Hotel Room), I’ll see you back in Badshot Lea tomorrow.
