Introducing the new leader of the Conservative Group at Rushmoor Borough Council.

Steve said:

"I am honoured to have been elected Group Leader of the Conservative group/leader of the opposition in Rushmoor. My priorities are clear: delivering a cleaner borough, campaigning for a proper leisure centre, and ensuring residents get a good deal from Union Yard.

I also want to pay tribute to my predecessor, Gareth Lyon, who has been a superb Leader for us over the last few years. Gareth has shown real dedication, judgement and commitment to our group and to residents. I look forward to continuing to work closely with him in his new role as our Parliamentary Spokesman."

On his recent Substack, Jacob Rees-Mogg outlined the necessity for abolishing the Supreme Court, and re-establishing the Judicial Committee of the House of Lords, repealing the Human Rights Act, the Equality Act, the Climate Change Act, and the Constitutional Reform & Governance Act, and also leaving the Human Rights Convention.

Rushmoor Conservatives say well done Jacob Rees-Mogg for being so bold with stating how begin to unpick this mess we are in, and fully back this restoration of our Constitution.

Leave the ECHR and repeal the Human Rights Act to secure Britain’s borders.

Scrap green levies and ideological net zero targets to deliver cheaper energy.

Hire 10,000 more police and increase stop and search to make our streets safe.

Restore the two child benefit cap, and face-to-face PIP assessments to get Britain working.

Increase defence spending by £50 billion, using savings made to the welfare budget to defend our country.

Scrap the 3% interest added to Plan 2 student loans and get under 16s off social media to help young people.

That’s what the Conservatives under Kemi Badenoch's leadership would do.
