Drill night tonight was for FF Foster and FF Wann, who both completed part of the Development Programme on Working @ Height using the 13.5 ladder (this is our largest ladder we carry on top of the fire engine). Both performed to a very high standard and this element can now be signed off.

Did you know there are three different ways we train to pitch the 13.5 ladder?
• Standard Pitch
• Confined Pitch
• Reverse Pitch

Following this, we moved on to a water composite drill using an alternative water source pump — the Light Portable Pump (LPP) — along with running out multiple hoses.

🚒 Drill Night with a Competitive Edge!

Tonight’s drill training saw crews go head-to-head in a friendly RTC team competition 👏

Working through four areas of the 6 steps of an RTC, teams were scored on vehicle stabilisation, glass management, space creation and full access. Crews worked together to deliver safe, effective outcomes — all while racing against the clock.

RTC incidents are a vital part of our core firefighter skills, and training like this ensures we’re always ready when our communities need us most.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support our car wash today! We were lucky to have the weather on our side, which made it even better ☀️

Thanks to your generosity and support, we raised an amazing £670, all in aid of the Firefighters Charity 🚒
