Everyone is welcome to join us in improving this much-valued community asset.
🌳 Yay… whisper it quietly, but the forecast is looking hopeful and the sun might even make an appearance for our first community tree planting day! 🌤
A quick reminder that we are planting trees on the playing field tomorrow and everyone is very welcome to come along and help.
🕙 Start time: 10am
Alex Forrester from Forest for Cornwall will give a short briefing before we begin. You are welcome to stay for as much or as little time as you can spare. We plan to finish at around 4pm.
📍 Location: Mawnan Park (formerly known as Mawnan Junior Playing Field), Carwinion Road TR11 5JD
What3Words: ///steepest.pesky.police
Parking is available at the Bowling Club car park (please stay on the hard standing). We will have access to the Bowling Club toilets throughout the day.
👕 What to wear:
Please dress for the weather in practical outdoor clothing. Sturdy footwear such as boots or wellies is essential, as it may still be muddy underfoot. Gloves are recommended.
🛠 What to bring:
Spades will be available, but do bring your own if you have one, ideally named. Wheelbarrows and shovels for moving mulch would also be hugely appreciated.
Please also bring a reusable coffee cup or flask if you can.
☕ Refreshments:
There will be hot drinks, biscuits and cakes available during the day, plus bread rolls and hot leek and sweet potato soup at lunchtime. You are welcome to bring a packed lunch or pop home if you prefer.
It is fantastic to see our community coming together to help with Phase One of this important project. If you can join us, even for an hour, we would love to see you there 🌱
The sessions are completely free - the trees have been funded by
Forest for Cornwall and the Mawnan Park Nature Garden project is also part-funded by Cornwall Council's Cornwall Climate and Nature Fund.
