🎙️ A powerful moment from one of the recent conversations shared by Care Visions Talks.

What if “switching off” is actually the brain trying to cope? 💬

💭 Have you seen this kind of response in children or young people you support?

In this clip from a Family Talk Spotlight, Gabor Maté explores something many children and young people experience; zoning out, disconnecting, or seeming absent-minded under stress.

Rather than seeing this simply as “bad behaviour” or lack of focus, he invites us to think about what may be happening underneath. When children can’t fight or flee, the brain may find another way to cope.

For those caring for and supporting children every day, these conversations matter. 💙

We are delighted to share a new eLearning module from Children and Young People's Centre for Justice in collaboration with us at Care Visions Residential.

This module helps raise awareness about the unnecessary criminalisation of children in care.

More information and details of free places is available via: https://www.cycj.org.uk/e-learning/?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio&fbclid=PAZnRzaARCGHRleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA8xMjQwMjQ1NzQyODc0MTQAAaftlGyFwGTchgojqYbHH5eXR3Pi3t1FgmENgaAFwftsOTqzeYu1wYS32jhHzQ_aem_Gxr1JBupmHZMx3OaeGm_7w

Thanks to CYCJ, The Promise Scotland and everyone involved.

We are delighted to be able to offer a new eLearning module in collaboration with Care Visions Residential!

Rights respecting in residential care introduces the prevalence and impact of how everyday behaviours that would typically be handled within a family setting can sometimes escalate into police involvement when they occur in care environments.

Thanks to the support of The Promise Scotland we are able to bring you this module free of charge.
