Today, the Sensory Services Team and other members of Falkirk Council had the opportunity to attend a hands-on demonstration delivered by Guide Dogs Scotland. The session focused on innovative technology designed to support people with visual loss.

Attendees were introduced to and able to try out two key devices: the WeWalk 2 Smart Cane, which enhances mobility with built-in navigation features, and the Meta AI Glasses, a wearable device that uses artificial intelligence to identify objects, read text, and provide real-time spoken feedback about the user's surroundings.

The demonstration offered valuable insight into how emerging technologies can help improve independence and accessibility for individuals with sight loss in our communities.
