A big thank you to our 150 visitors (and 10 dogs) that came and enjoyed the RAF Sculthorpe Heritage Centre, even if the weather forecast was wrong!
The kids trail proved a huge hit!
We also welcomed some special visitors from the US that feature in displays.
Gary Miller and Paula Willsher Miller returned and viewed the updated Heritage Centre.
Gary was on TDY twice at Sculthorpe in the 1980s and kindly donated his BDU jackets.
Mike's (pictured with the F-5) father was stationed at Sculthorpe at the 1950s and was thrilled to find the location of a photo that was taken of his father with his Austin Healey.
And Diane Highsmith Ansley and her husband, who has been supportive of the Heritage Centre for years and finally made the trip.
Her father was part of the 19th TRS and was awarded the DFC for a secret overflight by the 19th in 1955.
Sadly, he was killed upon returning to the states in a car accident in 1956.
He was awarded his DFC after his passing.
Diane very kindly donated her father's stein and citation letter to the RSHC and it was her first time seeing the new display.
Our next open day is our "Sculthorpe at War" event, please see below
