Norfolk County Council proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (the “Order”) (NTRO11375) affecting A) B1105 Barsham Road from its junction with A148 Fakenham Bypass for 1,370 metres north-eastwards (“Road A”), B) B1105 Wells Road from its junction with B1105 Barsham Road to its junction with U14104 Breck Lane (“Road B”), C) C586 Fakenham Road from its junction with B1105 Wells Road for 100 metres north-eastwards (“Road C”) and D) U14049 Long Lane from its junction with A148 Fakenham Bypass to its junction with B1105 Barsham Road (“Road D”) in the Town of Fakenham and Parishes of Barsham and Sculthorpe to facilitate carriageway resurfacing works, the Roads A-D will be temporarily closed/restricted (except for pedestrian access) for the duration of the works/period the closure is necessary which is anticipated to be between 19:00 and 06:00 from 21st to 25th September 2026, but may continue to be closed/restricted until the 6th November 2026 where the closure/restriction is still required beyond the anticipated dates.
Alternative route is via: A) A148 Fakenham Bypass/ Creake Road, B1355 Burnham Market Road/ Creake Road/ The Common/ Fakenham Road/ Church Street/ Burnham Market Road, A149 Main Road, A159 Mill Road, A149 Two Furlong Hill, B1105 Fakenham Road/ B1105 Wells Road. B) B1105 Barsham Road, A148 Fakenham Bypass/ Creake Road, B1355 Burnham Market Road/ Creake Road/ The Common/ Fakenham Road/ Church Street/ Burnham Market Road, A149 Main Road, A159 Mill Road, A149 Two Furlong Hill, B1105 Fakenham Road/ Wells Road. C) Fakenham Road, West Barsham Road, Walsingham Road, Grove Road, Wells Road. D) A148 Fakenham Bypass, B1105 Barsham Road (South Creake, North Creake, Burnham Thorpe, Burnham Market, Burnham Norton, Burnham Overy, Holkham, Wells-Next-The-Sea, Wighton, Walsingham, Fakenham, Barsham, Sculthorpe).
The works promoter for this restriction/closure is: Norfolk County Council.
Vehicular access will be permitted to a final destination in the Roads A-D where signs indicating such access is possible and permitted are in place.
The Order shall automatically revoke on the completion of the works/when the closure is no longer necessary or otherwise on the 6th November 2026 without further notice.
If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date the Order is effective.
A person who contravenes, or who uses or permits the use of a vehicle in contravention of the restriction/closure imposed by the Order shall be guilty of an offence.
Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.
