There is still a chance to book a place on our lovely poetry workshop tomorrow afternoon. It will be led by two Kent Downs National Landscape GeoAmbassadors who are a writer and geologist by profession. They will guide you through ideas and words connected with our landscape.

You do not need to be a poet or a writer to take part, just interested in exploring words and ideas.

Don't miss out on our next fabulous workshop!

As part of the Great Big Green Week, our Green Team have organised a GeoPoetry workshop this Friday! 'What is geopoetry?' I hear you ask. Well, its a combination of geology and poetry!

Led by a writer and a geologist from Kent Downs, we will write to prompts inspired by chalk, flint and earth processes to create individual reflections on our beautiful Kent landscape. We will read and respond to poems and prose on geological themes. The event is open to all, and no previous writing experience is necessary, just a willingness to participate. Bring paper and something to write with.

Friday afternoon 2-4pm - book now! You won't be disappointed!

We had a fantastic community art workshop on Saturday despite the rain! Over 20 adults and children came along. The workshop was led by local artist Emma Stretton of The Making Room assisted by members of the Green Team. This was the first of our Great Big Green Week events!

Participants used found natural materials to practice mark making techniques, and then used these and other materials to respond to our village and its landscape. Map sections were used as templates for the art work which included painting, drawing, printing, collage, stamping and rubbing techniques. Once finished we put all the pieces together to show the whole village! Hopefully you can see the road, the railway and the river all running through Eynsford.

We plan to show the artwork at our special Chalk Landscape event on Friday in St Martin's Church (6.30-8.30pm).

Thank you to everyone involved!!

Tomorrow is litter pick day! Come and help to tidy up our lovely village. All welcome!!
