We are very proud to be taking part in this year's Refugee Week, the world's largest arts and culture festival celebrating the contributions, resilience and creativity of refugees.

Please visit the library to see a display of beautiful hand-printed botanical monoprints made by people in our community. Created in sessions run by Honeyscribe, a Devon-based arts charity, in an extension of the award-winning ‘The Gatherers’ project.

Participants included people attending Open Door Exmouth and several ESOL classes across the town, including our own Conversation Café which meets on Friday afternoons. Many of those taking part have resettled in Exmouth after leaving countries affected by war or from parts of the global south already experiencing the impacts of climate change.

Through working with the warm and welcoming groups supporting these communities, the beautiful British wild springtime flowers inspired a series of joyful creative sessions that bought people together and celebrated some of the things we have in common.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Lucien, who leads our CoderDojo sessions here at Exmouth Library, has been awarded the Libraries Unlimited Fantastic Fundraiser Award 2026! 🏆

His dedication has helped countless young people discover the joy of coding. Not only does he run the brilliant weekly sessions, he also uses his company’s volunteer days to give even more time and energy to the club. Thanks to his passion, local businesses have generously donated equipment, supported the club, and helped us stay up‑to‑date so even more children can get hands‑on with technology.

A huge thank you to Lucien - and to all of our other amazing volunteers who give their time to support our library 💚

Can you help us share the books everyone wants to read this month? 📚

There’s high demand for our 10 most wanted titles, and many eager customers are waiting to borrow them. We’ve purchased as many copies as our budget allows, but if you’re able to help, we’d be truly grateful.

If you have a pristine copy, you’ve finished reading - whether it’s one you bought yourself or received as a gift - you can donate it at any library in Devon or Torbay. We’ll add it to our collection to help reduce the waiting list.

Thank you so much for your support! 💚

Our 10 most popular titles this month are:

1. The Things We Never Say by Elizabeth Strout
2. Land by Maggie O'Farrell
3. Ironwood by Michael Connelly
4. Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke
5. The Midnight Train by Matt Haig
6. Whistler by Ann Patchett
7. The Names by Florence Knapp
8. The Final Target by Nora Roberts
9. London Falling by Patrick Radden Keefe
10. Enough by Dawn French
