Exeter’s Armed Forces Day parade takes place this Saturday, with service personnel, veterans, cadets and military associations marching through the city centre from 11am.

The parade will travel from Sidwell Street to the Cathedral, with live performances from the Barnstaple Youth Band and the Salamanca Band of The Rifles. A big thank you to Exeter Brewery for once again supporting the event and helping us honour those who serve, and have served, our country.

On Liberation Day in Port Stanley, our Buglers proudly sounded the Last Post across Stanley Sound, carrying its notes across the water in remembrance and reflection. Their performance formed a poignant part of the service commemorating 44 years since the Liberation of the Falkland Islands.

Today, we had the absolute privilege of leading the Liberation Day Parade in Stanley.

Our Wind Quintet provided musical support for the Service of Thanksgiving at the Cathedral, while our Buglers delivered and outstanding Last Post performance. The commemorations concluded with a flypast over Stanley, followed by our Trad Band providing music for the celebrations that followed.

It was a fitting day of reflection and remembrance, honouring those who fought for the liberation of the Falkland Islands and remembering those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This June, the Salamanca Band and Bugles of The Rifles proudly joins communities across the nation in celebrating Pride Month.

The Rifles are strengthened by the diversity, dedication, and professionalism of all those who serve and support our regiment. Pride Month provides an opportunity to recognise and celebrate our LGBTQ+ personnel, past and present, whose commitment, talent, and service continue to contribute to our success.

As musicians and ambassadors of the Regiment, we stand proudly alongside our colleagues, friends, families, and communities in promoting a culture of respect, inclusion, and belonging.

Together, we celebrate the values that unite us: courage, integrity, respect, and teamwork.

Two years ago today, we were proud to attend the D-Day 80 commemorations in Normandy, joining veterans, families, and allies in honouring the courage and sacrifice of those who took part in the liberation of Europe.

Today, on the 82nd anniversary of D-Day, we pause to remember all those who gave their lives in service of freedom. Their bravery, sacrifice, and legacy will never be forgotten.

Today we celebrate and remember on the 80th Anniversary of VE Day all those who served during the Second World War.

Last year on 6th June we had the privilege of playing in Normandy on the 80th D Day celebrations. Here we are next to the Pegasus Bridge.
