St Peter's Church of England Aided School

St Peter's Church of England Aided School St Peter's is an 11-16 secondary school in Exeter, Devon, with over 1300 students. I am safe. I take considered risks in order to learn and grow.

Our passion for educating the whole character is supported by our Principles of HOPE. We aspire to enable every member of St Peter’s to be able to say, “People believe the best of me here. I bring the best of me to St Peter’s and serve others to live the best life they can too.”

Our Principles of HOPE are the means by which we achieve our vision. These are inspired by educational research and the

Christian understanding of hope which is ‘confident expectation’ and ‘firm assurance’.’

This means that we aim to provide HOPE to everyone in every situation. Our Principles of HOPE are embedded into our daily life and our long term aims so we enable all to live ‘life to the full’ and become the best well-rounded characters they can.

Adaptations due to Weather

In previous years we have adapted our uniform policy when summer weather conditions reached certain temperature thresholds. This ensured that students were able to learn in a safe and comfortable environment, whilst not compromising teaching & learning.

This summer term we have continued to monitor the weather and with the temperatures set to be particularly hot at the start of next week, we have decided to allow students to wear PE kit on Monday 22nd June, Tuesday 23rd June and Wednesday 24th June.

Students may still choose to wear normal uniform and the following will be acceptable:

• Students may choose to continue to wear school uniform
• Students may choose to wear normal uniform without a tie
• Students may choose to wear PE kit
• Please do not wear a combination of both school uniform and PE kit

Please can parents/carers ensure that students do not attempt to make any adjustments to their PE kit. I am grateful for your support with ensuring your son/daughter wears the appropriate PE kit. Hoodies, tracksuit tops or any other accessories will not be allowed.

Water - Please come to school with a least two full water bottles of water so that you can keep hydrated.

Sun Cream and Sun Hats -Please feel free to use and wear these sun protections responsibly.

If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will remain in contact over the coming days should there be any changes.
We anticipate a return to usual school uniform on Thursday 25th June. However, we will continue to monitor the forecast and share further updates if necessary.

Kind regards
St. Peter’s

Cricket

The Under-12 and 13 softball cricket team represented the school superbly at the Devon Finals on Tuesday, having qualified by winning the local schools' competition held in Exmouth.

The day began with a heartbreaking one-run defeat in their opening match, but the teams responded brilliantly, winning two of their remaining four games. Their overall record of two wins and two losses saw them finish an impressive fifth in the county.

It was a fantastic day of cricket, with students displaying excellent skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout. There were plenty of big sixes, outstanding catches, and wickets taken, making for some exciting matches. All of the students should be proud of the way they represented the school and competed against some of the strongest teams in Devon.

A huge congratulation to our Under 13 girls cricket team who battled it out against a strong Maynard team this week.

The game was nail-biting and extremely close right down to the last over. Our tight fielding, superb teamwork, controlled bowling and outstanding batting allowed us to get over the line to our first victory over Maynard.

This team is also playing in the County finals next week and we wish them well.

This week our U15 girls cricket team played against a very strong Maynard team.

Many of the girls were representing St Peters in cricket for the first time and did an amazing job showing top class teamwork.

Although we didn't manage a win, the girls did themselves proud and learnt a huge amount . This team is also playing in the County finals next week and we wish them well.
