Health update: infection prevention and illness prevention in nurseries

Summer can feel like a break from bugs, but this year the UK Health Security Agency reports in some areas there has been an increase in viral illnesses spreading within childcare settings.

The best way to stop infections spreading is by consistently following everyday infection prevention measures.

Want to find out more about becoming a Devon Childminder?

Our childminder info session will provide you with the information that you will need to decide childminding is for you.

It includes who needs to register, what you need to consider, set up costs, being self-employed, the Early Years Foundation Stage, Ofstedā€™s role, signposting to further training and documents and where you can get support.

Did you know that you can work as a childminder in your own home or from another venue?

The training will consist of a 4 hour virtual session (delivered through Microsoft Teams). (you only need to attend one)

EasyPeasy is now available free for early years practitioners across Devon.

The app provides access to thousands of evidence-informed activities, videos and resources to support child development, school readiness and parental engagement.

Practitioners can access a dedicated in-app experience designed to help integrate EasyPeasy into their setting and strengthen partnerships with families.

Content is accredited by the PIF TICK, the UKā€™s independently assessed health information quality mark.

Practitioners can also signpost families to EasyPeasy, helping parents and carers build learning, connection and confidence through everyday interactions at home.
