Wychavon residents are being invited to complete a survey about air pollution ahead of Clean Air Day on the 18th June. The survey (link below) is being carried out by Worcestershire Regulatory Services (WRS), which monitors air quality on behalf of Wychavon, in partnership with Worcestershire County Council.

Air pollution is caused by the emission of pollutants, primarily gases and fine particles, into the atmosphere that are harmful to humans and the environment. Pollutants are influenced by complex chemical reactions, anthropogenic and natural processes and meteorology.

Evesham has a new Mayor... Cllr Bill Kimberley was sworn in at the May meeting of Evesham Town Council held at a packed The Parish Church of All Saints Evesham surrounded by neighbouring mayors, friends, family and business and community leaders.

Bill's Mayoress will be his wife, fellow Town Councillor, Cllr Mrs Celia Kimberley and the new deputy mayor is Cllr Peter Scurfield.

Bill Kimberley was born at Evesham Hospital, raised in Hampton, and educated at Broadway Catholic School and Prince Henry’s Grammar School.

Public service and community spirit are very much part of the Kimberley family tradition. Bill’s late father, Bill Kimberley Senior, was also Mayor of Evesham, as was Celia’s father, Cecil Blackwell, and her uncle, Jock Loudoun.

Many residents will know Bill through the family business, through markets and fairs across the Midlands, and of course through the famous Evesham Mop Fair, which he organised for many years as a proud member of The Showman's Guild of Great Britain.

The mayor's chosen charities this year are Working World, Campden Home Nursing and The Vale of Evesham Community First Responders. A varied calendar of events has already been released, including a skittles night, quiz nights and a formal Mayors Ball.

Outgoing Mayor, John Clatworthy presented his chosen charities; Evesham Volunteer Centre, Caring Hands in the Vale and Evesham Dementia Action Alliance with cheques for over £3,700 each.

Mayor's Annual Civic Service

Thank you to everyone who attended the Mayor’s Annual Civic Service at The Parish Church of All Saints Evesham on Sunday. (19th April 2026)

The service was attended by the Lord-Lieutenant of Worcestershire, Mrs Beatrice Grant, alongside representatives from Evesham’s volunteer community, town and district councillors, mayors from neighbouring towns, and local residents. It celebrated the invaluable contribution of volunteers within our town.

Conducted by the Mayor’s Chaplain, Mrs Julie Westlake, the service featured hymns chosen by the Mayor, Mayoress and Deputy Mayoress, as well as presentations from each of the Mayor’s chosen charities for this year: Evesham and District Dementia Alliance, Evesham Volunteer Centre, and Caring Hands in the Vale.

The Mayor extends his sincere thanks to everyone who contributed to making the event such a success, particularly those who took part in the service itself, including the Town Crier, All Saints’ organist Diane Scorce, the church’s volunteers and staff, town councillors and officers, and Evesham’s own Avonbank Brass Band.

Evesham Market Trailer Refresh

Thank you so much to Evesham Place Board and Bluebell Events for this freshly great new design on Evesham’s Market trailer. The design has been inspired by the Visit Evesham website branding, which itself was taken from Evesham’s Victorian shopfront signage.

Our market is a vital part of what makes Evesham special, supporting local traders, attracting visitors, and bringing life and colour into the town centre. A strong, recognisable identity helps tell that story more clearly and proudly.

Chloe, who runs and manages Evesham’s markets, said:
“The market is such an important part of Evesham’s character, and it’s great to see it represented so positively and professionally. Having the trailer wrapped in the Visit Evesham style gives us a real sense of pride and helps the market feel properly connected to the wider town brand.”

This is another small but meaningful step in helping Evesham look its best, supporting local businesses, and creating a joined‑up, welcoming experience for residents and visitors alike
