We are delighted to announce that Nigel Huddleston has been re-adopted as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Droitwich & Evesham.

Nigel has served as our Member of Parliament since 2015, and throughout that time he has done an exceptional job representing our constituency.

We are incredibly fortunate to have such a committed and hardworking MP, and we look forward to Nigel continuing to represent our area for the remainder of this Parliament and, with your support, into the next.

Congratulations to Nigel Huddleston MP, and thank you for your continued commitment to fighting for Droitwich & Evesham.

The resignation of Morgan McSweeney shouldn’t be viewed in isolation. He was brought in and empowered by Peter Mandelson, given enormous influence over Labour’s direction and operation, and allowed to shape the party from the centre.

What’s striking is that Keir Starmer has once again chosen the coward’s route, allowing a senior figure to take the fall rather than taking responsibility himself. Leadership means owning the decisions you make and the people you elevate, not quietly stepping back when things unravel.

This feels less like accountability and more like a convenient sacrifice, and it raises serious questions about who is really in charge of the Labour Party.

‼️ HUGE Riverside announcement ‼️

For a long time, Evesham’s town centre has needed a clear sense of direction and a council willing to take responsibility for shaping its future rather than leaving it to chance.

That is why the Conservative administration at Wychavon has taken the decision to move towards public ownership of the Riverside Shopping Centre and a number of surrounding properties. This step is being taken specifically to support the ambitions set out by the Evesham Place Board and as part of our wider commitment to improving the town for residents, businesses and visitors alike.

Bringing these sites under local control creates the opportunity to think long-term about Evesham’s future. It allows us to plan properly for a town centre that works for modern living, supports local businesses, makes better use of the River Avon, and protects important community assets such as the Public Hall.

Subject to the final stages of the purchase completing as expected, the next phase will be about engagement and delivery. That includes bringing forward plans for redevelopment, selecting the right development partner, and ensuring that local people and businesses have a meaningful opportunity to help shape what comes next.

This approach reflects a Conservative belief in practical intervention where it is needed: stepping in to unlock opportunity, regenerate our town centres and leave places stronger than we found them. It is not about short-term headlines, but about taking responsible decisions now so Evesham can thrive for decades to come.

Evesham has enormous potential. This is about giving the town the tools, leadership and confidence it needs to realise it! We can’t wait for what the future holds! 🎉🍾

After Cllr Mark Goodge raised a question at Worcestershire County Council regarding the installation of bollards in Evesham, it became clear that the County Council would not be proceeding with their installation at Bridge Street and Market Square, despite the bollards already having been purchased!

At Conservative-led Wychavon, we recognise the importance of these bollards and the difference they will make. While we must be clear that responsibility for installing, managing and maintaining them does not and will not sit with Wychavon District Council, we have stepped in and agreed to cover the installation costs to ensure this work can move forward.

Well done to Cllr Emma Stokes for first securing the funding for the bollards themselves, and now ensuring the funding is in place for their installation as well.

Once again, this is another example of Conservative-run Wychavon stepping up and delivering for local residents.

We’re fortunate in Droitwich and Evesham to have an MP who truly understands the challenges of office.

Someone who won’t overpromise and underdeliver.
Common-sense policies, costed solutions, and a focus on what really works for the British people.

Your local Conservative team were out today in Bretforton and Offenham campaigning for the upcoming Wychavon District Council by-election.

Mary Smith is a dedicated local candidate with proven experience as a District Councillor.

If elected, Mary will:

-Work to keep Wychavon as one of the lowest council tax authorities in the country.

-Oppose overdevelopment by supporting Neighbourhood Plans. Despite Labour pulling government funding, a Conservative-led Wychavon is ensuring these are subsidised.

-Campaign for fairer funding allocations so the villages receive their fair share of investment in the infrastructure that matters to you.

-Push for better street cleaning across the villages, ensuring weeds are removed and drains cleared on time.

Only a strong Conservative administration can continue to deliver low council tax and the high-quality local services you expect.
Wychavon remains one of the few local district councils in a positive financial position – and we cannot afford to let other parties put that at risk.

We're pleased to be supporting our candidate, Mary Smith, in the forthcoming council by-election in the Bretforton and Offenham ward. Mary comes from a long-established local family in the Vale of Evesham, and both understands and cares about the issues facing our rural villages. Mary will be an excellent councillor for Bretforton, Offenham and Blackminster and fully deserves your vote.

While us Conservatives do not believe that innocent patriotic expression should ever be met with calls for criminal charges, we are disappointed allbeit not shocked to see Reform UK so readily casting aside one of their own.

Cllr Perks has been among their most active and proactive councillors, and it is a real shame to see him treated with such disregard by his own party.

Perhaps Worcestershire County Council leader, Cllr Joanne Monk, might now reflect on whether she should be standing up in defence of her colleague rather than allowing him to be thrown to the wolves.
