The Randolph Community Centre Foundation Trustees would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the running costs of our building over the past ten years by means of funds via the parish grant.
As you all know, in 2016 the parish precept was increased significantly to raise funds to support the running of the community centre. Fast forward to now and that support came to an end this financial year, placing the centre, the nursery and the gym at great risk of closure.
We always knew we had a limited time to make the centre self-sufficient. Anyone who runs a community building knows that costs aren’t cheap with bills rising almost monthly and we have the added pressure of employing a manager. It was evident early on in this project that the centre would never be self-sufficient, keeping costs low and working with people so groups can continue to run is one of our many goals. We are not going to shoot ourselves in the foot by raising costs and pricing people out of using the centre.
Keeping all of this going was put solely on the shoulders of our manager, John Bogle, who has worked tirelessly with outside organisations to find a solution and to keep this centre open for the community. It gives us the greatest of pleasure to tell everyone that he has come up trumps again, securing funding of just over £195,000 over three years from the National Lottery not only to keep the centre running for a further 3 years with covering core costs but also to replace our faulty BMS System which in its current state is crippling the centre.
If anyone would like any further information please don’t hesitate to contact John.
Thank you all for your continued support.
