To celebrate the reopening of the Belvedere Tower for Heritage Open Days, we've created a brand-new pin badge.

On Sat 19 and Sun 20 September, you'll be able to tour the tower and experience the views over the garden and beyond. What better way to remember your visit than to buy one of these lovely badges.

All the funds raised by pin badge donations go towards vital conservation at Claremont. Suggested donation £3, available on-site from the Kiosk.

In the foreground, there is a hand holding a pin badge in the shape of the Belvedere Tower; blurred in the background is the full-size Tower between an avenue of green hedgerow and trees

This passageway is known as View Walk and is believed to have been originally laid out by Sir John Vanbrugh, the first owner of the Claremont estate, as part of his own garden, cutting through the existing Chargate Wood.

The walk runs from Bason Park (the south side of the garden, beyond the lake) toward the site of the nine-pin alley, where a temple once stood.

Thanks to the outstanding efforts of our dedicated garden volunteers, we can witness View Walk as close to Vanbrugh's original design as possible.

Find out about Claremont on our upcoming History Walk this Friday 18 September. There's no need to book; just meet at the kiosk at 11am.

Did you know Claremont's remarkable amphitheatre dates back more than 300 years?

Designed by renowned landscape designer Charles Bridgeman for the Duke of Newcastle in 1716 and built between 1720 and 1722, the Grade I-listed amphitheatre was created using the spoil excavated to form Claremont's original circular lake, which can still be spotted from above in satellite images today.

This rare surviving feature is one of the earliest examples of 18th-century landscape design in Britain. Experience it for yourself when Claremont Landscape Garden opens its gates for free on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September.

The summer holidays might be drawing to a close, but there's something new coming to Claremont this September.

Based on the bestselling children’s book by Rachel Bright, families can join the trail to help Cyril and Bruce work together to get a very special prize: THE LAST NUT OF THE SEASON.

Put us in your diary for this autumn.

With thanks to Hachette Children’s Group.

The low water levels in the lake at Claremont have enabled us to carry out vital restoration work along the banks around the Bel-Isle.

The hazel banks around the islands had deteriorated over time. While the lake is dry and accessible, our volunteer gardening team has carefully collected and reused as much of the existing hazel as possible to restore sections of the banks. New hazel branches will then be sourced to complete the remaining restoration work.

Thanks to the garden and volunteer team for carrying out this work.
