It's set to get very hot this weekend. An amber heat-health alert is in effect until 8pm on Tuesday 23 June across the South East.

Heat can be tough on older people, babies, young children, and anyone with a long-term health condition - so let's look out for each other.

Quick ways to stay safe:

πŸͺŸ Keep curtains closed on sunny windows
🧴 Wear a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen outside
⏰ Avoid the sun 11am-3pm
πŸƒ Save exercise for cooler mornings/evenings
πŸ’§ Drink plenty of water

For health advice and support contact NHS 111 online (https://orlo.uk/jtM5k) or by phone, 24/7.

πŸ“±While next week's planned strikes by resident doctors have been called off, please continue to use 111.nhs.uk/ to access the right care at the right time for you. It's open all day, every day, online or by phone, and points you to the best care for your needs.
πŸ’ŠLocal pharmacies can help with many health concerns too, often quickly and easily.
πŸ₯Do you have an appointment coming up? Keep it as planned, unless we've already changed it. We'll let you know if anything changes, so there's no need to contact us.

The resident doctors' strike that was due to start on Monday has now been called off.

Please continue to attend any appointments as planned and access NHS services as normal if you need them.

If you need to be seen by the NHS urgently, the quickest and best option might be your local urgent care service.

You may have heard of Urgent Treatment Centres, Minor Injury Units and Walk-In Centres - they can all help with a range of concerns that many people go to A&E for, and you're likely to be seen more quickly.
