Let’s focus on what’s important to people.

This survey on what people in the Irish Republic think should be political priorties is important.

Some politicians fixate on what matters to them, not what matters to people. Like the people of Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK, our neighbours in ROI want politicians to focus on the cost of living, access to housing, having quality public services and our economy.

Look how far down Irish unity comes!

People in Northern Ireland deserve our focus on core challenges here too - growing our economy, fixing public services, sorting our infrastructure out, affordable child care, fixing the justice system, tackling violence against women and girls….not another made up date for a future border poll or another pointless debate at Stormont about what’s happening elsewhere in the world.

Pet projects dominate our politics here instead of people’s priorities.

As we develop our manifesto for the next election the UUP will be focusing on building on our successes in Northern Ireland and fixing what is not working. This is a great place, with great people and a great future - but there is work to do.

The Fermanagh Ulster Unionist Councillors wish to express our heartfelt condolences to Councillor Alan Rainey and his family on the sudden death of their grandson.

Our thoughts and Prayers are with them at this time.
