On Friday 22nd February’s the mayor did her last public service - ‘Legacy Tree Planting Ceremonies’ across Enfield marked a proud and lasting moment from my Mayoral year. Supporting Royal Free Charity Red Cell Services, Enfield Black Heritage Hub, and Macmillan Cancer Support, these trees symbolise unity, resilience, community, and hope for future generations. A living legacy rooted in service, equality, and positive change that will continue to grow for years to come.

The Mayor's final Mayoral engagement was attending the Black Woman Kindness Initiative’s performance of Unheard Now Spoken at the Dugdale Arts Centre in Enfield.

Through powerful storytelling, the production celebrated resilience, identity, sisterhood, and the experiences of women across generations and communities. The Mayor said, 'It was wonderful to meet the performers and recognise the importance of supporting community-led arts that amplify women’s voices and stories'

The mayor had a wonderful visit to Inspirations Montessori Nursery at Enfield Cricket Club during their “People Who Help Us Week.” It was lovely spending time with the children, singing nursery rhymes and reading 'The Three Little Pigs'.
A truly special and memorable morning. Thank you for the warm welcome.

Yesterday evening the Mayor had the honour of attending and presenting awards at the John James Disability Inclusion Awards at Conway Tennis Club, alongside David James, son of John James OBE, a passionate advocate for inclusive tennis across Middlesex.

An inspiring evening celebrating accessibility, community spirit and the people helping make tennis welcoming and inclusive for everyone.

Dear All

As my term of office as Mayor of Enfield comes to an end on 27th May, I have been reflecting on what has been a truly memorable and humbling journey.

And wish to send my sincere thanks.

My first thanks go to the incredible volunteers and teams supporting my chosen charities: Macmillan Cancer Support, Enfield Black Heritage Hub, and the Red Cell Fund Services (Sickle Cell and Thalassemia) based at North Middlesex Hospital and the Royal Free Charity.

Your dedication, compassion, and tireless work bring hope, care, and practical support to so many individuals and families. It has been an honour to stand alongside you and witness the difference you make every day.

I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Nelly Gyosheva.

My sincere appreciation and thanks also extend to the Mayoral Office, especially Koulla Panaretou, and the Mayor’s Chauffeur's , whose professionalism, care, and support behind the scenes have ensured that every engagement ran smoothly. Your commitment has been invaluable throughout this year.

To my consorts, family, and friends — this journey has been incredible with you by my side. Thank you for your unwavering love and support, which has carried me through every moment of this year.

To the residents of Enfield — thank you for the kindness and welcome you have shown me throughout this year. It has been a privilege to meet so many of you, to share in your stories, and to celebrate the spirit that makes our borough so unique.

To the schools I have visited, and to the children and young people who continue to inspire me — your enthusiasm, curiosity, and determination remind us all of the importance of investing in the future.

I pay special tribute to Enfield’s Young Mayors and the officers who support them; your commitment and leadership are a credit to our borough.

I would also like to recognise the many establishments, faith groups, sponsors, and organisations, who supported me and the Mayor’s Charity Gala, along with the charities, CICs, and clubs whose ongoing work strengthens our community in countless ways.

Attending citizenship ceremonies and civic occasions has been a particular highlight — welcoming new citizens and representing Enfield at such important moments has filled me with pride and respect for the diversity and unity we share.

In these uncertain and challenging times, I have seen how Enfield comes together — with care, understanding, and a shared determination to support one another. That sense of community is one of our greatest strengths.

As my mayoral year draws to a close, I leave this role with a full heart and lasting memories. It has been an honour to serve you.

I wish each and every one of you continued strength, peace, and hope for the future.

May we go forward with faith in one another, holding onto compassion and the knowledge that together, we can face whatever lies ahead.

With my very best wishes,

Cllr Margaret Greer
Mayor of Enfield

It was a pleasure for the Mayor to visit Hazelbury Primary School for their assembly and discussion with the Eco Champions. She enjoyed speaking with pupils about resilience, responsibility, and respect, while hearing their thoughtful ideas on sustainability and positive change. The enthusiasm, confidence, and curiosity shown by the students was truly inspiring throughout the visit.

It was a privilege for the Mayor to visit Macmillan Cancer Support Head Office alongside Hayes Rees, Sudi Nardo, and the senior management team. As one of her chosen charities during her Mayoral year, it was valuable to hear more about the vital work supporting individuals, families, and communities affected by cancer. My sincere thanks to everyone whose dedication continues to provide hope, guidance, and support.
