"I have never been so impressed with the police – helpful, sympathetic, worked as a great team and found him quickly."
These were the kind words of an Ely resident who wrote to her local paper after officers found her husband, who has severe dementia, within 40 minutes of her first call.
The man has also been provided with a yellow Herbert Protocol wristband, joining 47 others who have received a wristband directly from officers - the protocol helps police if a loved one goes missing by collating key pieces of information, such as a physical description, familiar places, health details and an up-to-date photo
There is also an online form you can fill out to receive a band, that so far 507 families have taken advantage of.
