Elgin High School, Moray

Elgin High School, Moray Elgin High School is a non-denominational six year secondary school serving the communities of Elgin South and the surrounding rural areas.

FACEBOOK RULES FOR ELGIN HS:

Elgin High’s page and Twitter accounts are designed to celebrate and share the many wonderful things the vast majority of our students do and we hope that you enjoy their stories. Please be assured we will also continue to support our local community fully, when we can, by posting information on jobs, College events, and other positive or helpful news. We are

a "United Nations Rights Respecting School". The key point of that is: we expect everyone in our school to be respectful towards each other at all times. That includes on our social media sites.”

Students know the procedures to follow in school if they have a complaint. For anyone else, Moray Council has its own set complaints procedures which we follow in relation to other complaints and can be found on The Moray Council website. Our page is not the place to state complaints or to be rude or write silly or negative comments, or comments that go against our school policies. Any inappropriate comments will be deleted and in more serious cases people could be banned from the page. SOCIAL NETWORK PHOTOGRAPH PERMISSIONS:

Now that we are a multi ‘Social-Media’ school there will be times when photos and good news stories of students will be shared in the form of a ‘tweet’ via Twitter or uploaded to a post via Facebook. Should you expressly wish for your child not to be included on these social media sites then please contact the school office as soon as possible, otherwise we will assume that the permissions given on the student “Consent for Photographs & Fieldwork” update sheets, issued each year, will stand and also cover the use of photographs within social media sites. Please be assured that we will be monitoring these sites regularly and that the school will be adhering to The Moray Council use of social media policy. We thank you all for your continued support of the school and the community it serves.

Elgin High School World Cup 2026 Celebration

To mark the excitement of the World Cup 2026, Elgin High School will be holding a ‘Come As You Please’ Day on Friday 12th June 2026.

Pupils are invited to come to school wearing an international football top / accessory of their choice as we celebrate the global game together as a school community.

This is a chance to enjoy the build-up to one of the world’s biggest sporting events, recognise the power of sport to bring people together, and celebrate the many countries, cultures and teams represented through football.

Celebrating our S4/5 M-Power Programme Pupils!

What an incredible five weeks for our S4/5 M-Power Programme pupils!

Through the EDT programme, and with huge thanks to Ben Mackay, every pupil achieved their Silver Industrial Cadet Award and Young STEM Leader Level 5 qualification.

Working alongside Miss Taylor and Miss Wood, most pupils also achieved the NPA in Tenancy and National 4 Introduction to Events unit, successfully planning and hosting a coffee morning for staff as part of their learning.

Thank you to Janice, our Careers Adviser, for her support, and to DYW for organising valuable workplace visits to Johnstons and Glen Moray.

We are incredibly proud of our pupils’ hard work, enthusiasm and achievements. Congratulations to everyone involved — a fantastic example of Working Together for Success!

Duke of Edinburgh Award - 70th Anniversary

Students from Elgin High School were honoured to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh award at Gordonstoun School, at the end of April.

Having completed their Bronze and Silver awards, Holly, Erin and Lilli shared their experiences with HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and how DofE Awards perfectly align with our school values:
| Respect | Responsibility | Resilience | Support | Success |

It was also a chance to show that there should be no barriers to achievement, highlighting Enhanced Provision’s canoe expedition including participants with limited mobility and wheel chair users.

Thank you to His Royal Highness; Teachers, PSAs and volunteers, Parents and Carers; Outfit Moray and the Moray Duke of Edinburgh's Award Committee; who all make it possible for our young people to have such great opportunities and succeed.

🎉 Congratulations to our S2 Baxters Soup Challenge winners! 🎉
A huge well done to our very talented S2 team — Freya, Ayla and Tia — who won the Baxters Soup Challenge Final yesterday, competing against other Moray secondary schools.
Their winning creation was a deliciously unique Butternut Squash, Coconut, Ginger & Rice Soup, inspired by the flavours of Kiribati.
We are incredibly proud of their creativity, teamwork and impressive culinary skills. A fantastic achievement — well done, Freya, Ayla and Tia! 👏

Leavers Day 2026

Today we said farewell to our S6 students, along with those in S4 and S5 who are now moving on to an alternative pathway, as we marked Leavers Day 2026 at Elgin High School.

Our S6 students enjoyed a memorable final day together with a Western theme, a shared breakfast, an EHS quiz, yearbook signing and a fantastic celebratory cake kindly made by our Catering Supervisor, Annie. There was also time to say cheerio to staff and reflect on the many memories made along the way.

It has been a pleasure and a privilege to share the learning journey with this wonderful group of young people. We are very proud of all they have achieved and of the contribution they have made to the life of our school.

On behalf of everyone at Elgin High School, we wish all of our leavers every success, happiness and fulfilment in the future paths they now go on to follow.

EHS YPI Final Winners!

A huge congratulations to Neala and Maci-Lee, winners of the Elgin High School YPI Final, who have secured £3,000 for Moray Women’s Aid with their chosen charity presentation.

Well done to both on an excellent presentation, and congratulations too to all of the other groups who took part in the final — the standard was very high and everyone involved should be proud of their efforts.

YPI gives young people the chance to learn about important social issues, support a local charity and make a real difference in their community. We are delighted that Moray Women’s Aid, which provides vital support to women, children and young people affected by domestic abuse, will benefit from this year’s award.

Well done everyone involved.

Working together for success.
