🚑 We’re recruiting trained volunteers!

CFAST is growing fast, and we’re always looking for more trained volunteers to join our team.

We provide medical and first aid cover at a wide range of events throughout the year across Edinburgh and the Central Belt.

We’re looking for volunteers with any of the following qualifications:

🔹 3-Day First Aid at Work
🔹 FREC 3 / FREC 4
🔹 Ambulance Technician
🔹 Registered Paramedic or Nurse

As a CFAST volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to:

🚑 Attend a wide range of events
📅 Volunteer around your own availability
👕 Receive a full CFAST uniform
📚 Access further training and CPD opportunities
🤝 Gain experience and work alongside a diverse team

We ask volunteers to aim for around 100 hours per year — roughly one shift a month.

🚑 It’s been a busy few days for CFAST

Over the weekend, our volunteers supported a range of events across the city, from sporting events including rugby and running, to Edinburgh Zoo, where a large private event was also taking place.

On Saturday, we also had a few of our team at Edinburgh Summer Sessions at Ingliston, supporting another event medical organisation. It was fantastic to be involved and work alongside their team. 🎸🚑

Yesterday, we attended Volunteer Edinburgh’s Recruitment Fair, where we had the opportunity to speak and engage with well over 80 people 👥

Today, alongside our volunteers at Edinburgh Zoo, we also had two of our team down at the Union Canal providing first aid cover for the Edinburgh Canal Raft Race. 🚑
Massive thanks to Edinburgh Canal Festival for having us back to support another great event.

Our volunteers support a wide range of events throughout the year, from fairs, festivals and parades to sporting events, high-risk events, music events and everything in between.

🚑 Come and meet the team

We’re pleased to announce that we’ll be attending the Volunteer Edinburgh Recruitment Fair at St Paul’s and St George’s Church, from 10:00am–5:30pm.

Delivered annually by Volunteer Edinburgh, the fair is a great opportunity to discover volunteering opportunities across the city.

We’ll have some of our volunteers there throughout the day. If you’re interested in joining CFAST, come along, meet the team and find out more about volunteering with us.

👕 Have you seen our volunteers out and about in their new uniform? 🚑

Over the last few months, we’ve been upgrading our volunteer uniform to give CFAST a more professional look while keeping it practical and comfortable for our teams working at events.

All our volunteers are issued with a softshell jacket, polo shirt and work trousers, and we’ve also upgraded our PPE, including our hi-vis vests to help ensure our volunteers remain visible and safe while on duty.

It’s all part of our ongoing work to improve CFAST and make sure our volunteers have the right equipment to do their roles safely and professionally. A huge thank you to Be Uniforms for working with us to make this possible

🦁 Did you know?

Since 2018, We have been supporting Edinburgh Zoo by providing additional first aid cover for visitors and staff and 2026 is no different! 🚑

Throughout the summer, our volunteers have been at the zoo every Saturday and Sunday, with two members of our team on site each day to provide first aid support to anyone who may need us.

We’re proud to have worked alongside the fantastic Edinburgh Zoo team for so many years and look forward to continuing our support throughout the summer. 🦁🚑

Ferry Fair 2026 🚑

Yesterday, our team provided first aid cover for Ferry Fair Festival day, welcoming thousands of people to South Queensferry.

The day was packed with live music, a full walking and motor parade, and finished with live music from a band. 🎶🚗

We had a number of our volunteers on duty throughout the event, working closely with Police Scotland, the Ferry Fair Committee and our event partners to help keep everyone safe.

A massive thank you to everyone involved, and of course to our amazing volunteers who made it all possible. ❤️

Ferry Fair 2026 🚑

Whether you’re heading to Ferry Fair Festival tonight or tomorrow, our teams are on site across South Queensferry High Street and the surrounding area.

Our volunteers are working closely with Police Scotland Edinburgh, the Ferry Fair team and other event partners to help keep everyone safe throughout the weekend.

We also have a dedicated First Aid Treatment Post located on the High Street.

If you need help, please approach any CFAST volunteer, police officer or event steward and we’ll be happy to assist. 🚑

Over the last few nights, our volunteers have been in South Queensferry supporting Ferry Fair Festival.

We’ve provided first aid cover for the Junior Football Tournament, Family Fun Night at The Hub, and the Inflatable Fun & Races Night.

Tonight, we’re back again providing first aid cover for a number of activities taking place along the High Street.

It’s been a fantastic few days supporting Ferry Fair, and there’s still plenty more to come! 🚑❤️
