Which will take place in Comely bank Cemetery, Edinburgh, EH4 2DL.

The Kiel Canal Memorial Bench installation is expected very soon; in The Memorial Garden (within Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh).
I am expecting to receive Authority from City of Edinburgh Council next week, to Hold a "Dedication Ceremony / Service" on Saturday May 30th; followed by a Reception at The National Gallery of Scotland.
Planning is now underway and progress will be reported as we go along.

We have been Notified that Kiel Canal Memorial Bench should be delivered and Installed in The Memorial Garden (within Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh); early in April.

Arrangements will now be made for a "Dedication Service / Ceremony" to be held in May, followed by some Hospitality at the nearby National Gallery of Scotland.

Many thanks to the Guys who braved the "Baltic" Conditions at Edinburgh Waverley Station today to Collect for the Branch Funds; to Support Charitable Giving.

Tony Rogers, Bert Tasker, Arthur Evans, Kelvin Copland, Ian Spence, Bob Brines & Colin Moncur.

It was also a pleasure to meet Margaret Moncur!

It actually did take a couple of hours for me to properly "Thaw Out" once i got home.

We did actually find that the "Original" Branch 'Pop Up" had, mysteriously; been returned to the "Muster Room".

I tend to believe that it had been removed by mistake but; we will no longer be leaving Branch Property there. I have one of the New "Pop Ups", Ian Spence has the Original; plus one of the new ones.

I will not reveal the total amount Collected today; suffice to say that it was well in excess of £1250.00. The Cash Count was high and the QR Donations are still to be added.

See you at the Branch Meeting on Saturday 21st Feb.

📣 𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗗 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | Prince William To Take Major SAS Role In Boost To UK Military

He has piloted fighter jets and helicopters, toiled in gruelling cross-country exercises and even carried out drug busts in the Caribbean.

Now Prince William is to complete his military education with the toughest of the tough guys - the Special Forces.

Prince William has taken a new role helping Britain's elite special forces and championing the SAS, it has been revealed.

It has been reported that the 43-year-old agreed in private to take on the role which will see the royal support the worlds' most feared special forces, whose motto is "Who Dares Wins".

The SAS has taken care of the welfare of serving and ex-members of the the elite military group, which is based here in Hereford, since the end of WWII.

They said: "This is a very proud appointment and he will be a fantastic ambassador for the organisation, which has for many years supported this secretive group of people."

A military source said; "Prince William has visited the SAS recently and was delighted to accept becoming Patron of the Association"

It is believed the King's eldest son is the first-ever royal directly to become patron of the SAS Association, although his aunt Princess Anne is patron of the London-based Special Forces Club.

The SAS Association was set up in 1945 following the post-war disbanding of the original unit and provides hundreds of thousands of pounds to members and their families in need of help.

William attended the funeral of Major Mike Sadler last year.

He was the last of the 'SAS Originals' who died aged 103 and served under SAS founder David Stirling.
