As well as being an amazing singer/songwriter, Dolly Parton dedicated a lot of her life to improving literacy in children by founding the Imagination Library. The Imagination Library donates free books to children ❤️

We were very sad to hear of her passing so we thought we would help to celebrate her life by decorating 'A Coat of Many Colours' at 2.30pm 🙂

We hope to see you there!

Next Friday, 11th September, is Book Club Day. If you aren't already aware, our book group meets at 3:30pm on the first Thursday of every month - which is this week.

Next week is the first of the month and that means Zoo Tails is on Wednesday! Come along at 3:30pm to Corstorphine and find out some fun facts about flamingos and food.

The fun doesn't stop there though: we have a poster with three other sessions running on different days in the area. All events are free to attend.

Still want to get creative? Grab a segment of our mural and make it colourful and vibrant! Hand it in at the desk when you are done and you will soon see it up on the wall in the children's area.

Did you catch the last week? Looking for something to do today after school? Come along to our Crafternoon at 2:30pm and plot your journey through space! Design a rocket or probe, draw or colour in a destination and put it all together for a moving space picture.

Remember that our craft sessions are changing time to 2:30pm, and due to staff constraints are now fortnightly. Our next session after this will be on 4th September.

Far from the busy city centre, you can catch a Fringe-style performance at Blackhall Library by Kate Danley! This is for ages 16+ and is on Wednesday 26th August at 5pm.

School is back, and that means Chatterbooks returns too! For those in P5-P7, we have activities, games, discussions and even a bit of reading! Starting this week, 24th August, it will be every second Monday at 4pm during term time.
