Set among 30 acres of woodland and beautiful gardens, Lauriston Castle is a special place to visit. Guided tours of one of the most extraordinary interiors

in Scotland take place Monday-Thursday and Saturday-Sunday at 2pm during the summer months, and Saturday-Sunday at 2pm during the winter. Group tours can be arranged outwith these times - just give us a call! A very comprehensive range of events - from craft workshops to historic lectures - operates throughout the year. Join us for a fantastically gruesome Lauriston Castle Lecture.
'Knives Out! A History of Human Dissection on Thursday 24 Sept at 10:30am.

This talk will look at the history of dissection, and the role it has played in shaping the medical world. Cat Irving has been the Human Remains Conservator for Surgeons’ Hall since 2015 and has been caring for anatomical and pathological museum collections for over twenty years.

DEBBIE'S FACES IN PLACES
Debbie, one of our top volunteers has been spending a lot of time in the rooms at Lauriston and has realised there are faces everywhere in the house ..in ceramics, silver, brass, prints, paintings and furnishings. We love all the dogs that visit Lauriston and it is very special to us that our Castle is loved by so many dog-walkers and their special furballs. Little Lupo is however was a dog that had a very special place in our hearts. We adored him and loved a wee cuddle from him and sometimes a half-hearted toothless snarl. Our Public Programmes Manager Margaret was especially fond of Lupo. We were sorry to hear that Lupo passed peacefully in his sleep last week and our hearts go out to and our thoughts are with Sylvia and Nino. Lupo was an old man at 16 but loved Lauriston dearly and trotted around with great energy and will always have a special place in the history books of Lauriston Castle, remembered as he sat in his favourite Mimi's seat looking out at the view. We hope Sylvia and Nino get some comfort out of continuing to visit Lauriston and Mimi's Little Bakehouse - Lauriston Castle and they can say hi to us and all the other lovely doggos. Sleep tight little gent, you were completely unique and lovable, and we will all miss you dearly. ❤💙💜💛❤
