Saheliya supports and promotes the positive mental health and well-being of black, minority ethnic, asylum seeker, refugee and migrant women and girls (12+) in Edinburgh, Glasgow and other parts of Scotland. We develop our service user’s self-esteem and confidence and reduce barriers such as isolation and depression, by using a holistic range of services including counselling, practical support and advocacy, befriending, complementary therapies, outreach, group work and Young Saheliya. Our services are free and confidential. Childcare for under-fives is available on request. Saheliya Hub is part of the Open Arms Programme. We work in partnership with ELREC, Linknet and Sikh Sanjog. The Saheliya Hub tackles isolation and lonliness by offering a range of opportunities, groups and classes so empowering BME women to become actively involved in their local communities. Around the World Childcare is a nursery and creche facility open to all while supporting service users.
